Purpose of Scatter Decorations?

Dear users, dear designers,
as far as I know, you can use scatter decorations to work up leftover yarn / scraps of all kinds. It makes sense to use the finished models as keychains / bag charms, but I don’t understand what the purpose of scatter decorations is.
Could you explain it to me?

Well, it just sits around somewhere (on the table, for example) and looks nice. It’s just decoration 😅

But I almost never have “streudeko” lying around. You just have to pick it all up again later... :D

On a festively set table or an Advent table, it’s simply placed there and looks beautiful.

It’s meant to delight the guests—that’s the only purpose of “Streudeko.” And sometimes it’s given away right away, and the guest gets to take it home.

Hi Josefa,

The name “scatter decorations” actually says it all. You scatter them on the table or somewhere else as decoration. It looks a little nicer that way.
Although I rarely use them on decorated coffee tables—I tend to repurpose them for crafts or earrings instead.

Sometimes there are great motifs among them, which I then use on greeting cards or those 3-D cards with a window—you can use these scatter decorations there too (there are also sequins you can sew on; I glue them onto cards or sew them onto crocheted bags as “bling bling” decoration).

"Streudeko" keeps guests from messing around with the candles—that makes perfect sense and creates a lot less of a mess. *lol*

I hadn’t thought of it that way at all… but it’s true. At Christmas, we play with the wooden trees on the table and make shapes; my cousin hasn’t touched the candles since then.
