Dear users, dear authors,
if you’d like to use the holidays for large-scale projects, you’ll find suitable patterns here. Have fun with them.

@Authors,
2-3 patterns per author are enough. Don’t forget links, images, info, etc.

Finally, you have time to rummage through your stash and start new projects. Here are a few suggestions for larger projects for you. They’ll keep you well occupied for a while. I hope you enjoy looking at them and making them yourself.

Warm regards from Ina

Knitted Blanket with Fringe
This is really fun (even for persistent knitting beginners), because we only knit knit stitches and don’t have to weave in any ends. You can knit up any yarns that have the same yardage and colors that go well together.

Mosaic Blanket Made of Squares
It is crocheted. First we crochet lots of identical squares with a beautiful textured pattern. These are then joined together. Finally, add a border around it—and your unique blanket in your favorite colors is finished.

Colorful Round Rug
This one is also crocheted from lots of colorful leftover yarn. It’s great fun, and even crochet beginners can manage it, because only 2 identical rounds alternate throughout.

Christmas is now over, and the next holiday weekend is coming up. Many of you are also on vacation between Christmas and New Year’s. It’s a great time to start a larger project. Here are a few lovely designs from my shop.

A raglan sweater made from sock yarn—nice and soft and warm. You can even knit it while watching TV. The pattern is written for size 40/42 (M), and the sweater can be worn by both men and women.

This vest with a cable pattern made from merino wool is a must-have for men who feel the chill. It’s timeless and goes with almost any outfit and suits many occasions—both at home and at the office (for example). The pattern is written for size 48/50.

For children ages 2.5 or 3 and up, this cardigan will be indispensable next spring for walks or at the playground. It’s knitted from the top down with raglan sleeves. The pattern requires a bit of attention and some knitting experience. The cardigan fits up to about age 4. It has pockets and a hood.

Here are my suggestions for slightly larger projects to help you enjoy the time “between Christmas and New Year’s.”

Knitting Pattern: Cozy Cowl / Shoulder Warmer “Celtic Sun” - this cowl is perfect for snuggling up in. It can be knitted with a larger circumference so it can also be used as a shoulder warmer. Or you can make the circumference smaller and wear it as a simple cowl. The cowl is knitted in doubleface, so both sides look great and you can turn it around depending on your mood.

Knitting Pattern: “Paris” Placemat - this unique placemat transports you to the City of Love while you’re still knitting it :-) The chart does require a bit of concentration—but I find it’s a great way to unwind. The placemat is knitted in doubleface, so it has two beautiful sides.

Crochet Pattern: “Dino World” Cowl - if you love crocheting and know a dinosaur fan, this cowl might be just the right project for you. The cowl is crocheted using only single crochet stitches, with the unused color crocheted in as you go, so there are no annoying floats. The technique is very easy to learn and is, of course, explained in detail.

Wishing you some lovely, relaxing days, Sonja

A great project where you can give your creativity free rein, and that you can pause again and again, is crocheted Punch and Judy puppets. Crocheted puppets are much sturdier and lighter than puppets with wooden heads. You can use leftover yarn for them and design each puppet completely individually. One puppet can be finished in 2–3 evenings, so you can crochet a hand puppet every now and then.
In my shop you’ll find numerous patterns for crocheted hand puppets, so you can crochet a whole theater ensemble for yourself.

Here are a few examples:

Value Bundle Basic Set (6 hand puppets)

Value Bundle Royal Family (3 hand puppets for the price of 2)

Hand Puppet Wizard Merlin

I offer 8 different granny square patterns.

You can choose either one granny square pattern from the collection in various colors or all of them together—plain or colorful—just the way you like them—for a blanket, a pillow, or as an appliqué for clothing.

All granny square patterns have the same number of stitches in the final round, so they can be easily combined with one another.

My collection gives you an overview of all 8 granny square patterns

Mureki will keep you busy for quite a while.
You can decide whether to crochet the entire tablecloth in one piece or make various individual parts.

As a whole, it measures 88 x 88 cm and weighs 485 g (material: 4-ply yarn made of 50% cotton and 50% polyacrylic).

Gara - an asymmetrical triangular shawl you can snuggle up in.
The size can be adjusted as desired.

The shawl shown measures 122 cm x 144 cm x 130 cm - weight: 300 g (3-ply yarn, 50% cotton and 50% polyacrylic).

Besides effort, this project also requires quite a bit of time, so this explosion box isn’t meant for last-minute crafting. But there are still a few weeks until Valentine’s Day, and if you happen to have some time to spare, this is the perfect opportunity to start working on the project.

The box is made of photo cardstock and patterned paper and measures approximately 10 x 10 x 10 cm. It has plenty of room for photos, pictures, wishes, lovely sayings, and even a small gift.
