Why are hoodies so popular?

why are hoodies / hooded sweatshirts so popular?

because they are so comfortable and versatile, Josefa. I sewed one for myself a few years ago too, from a double-face jersey fabric that I once got from my daughter for my birthday. Back then I weighed a good 20 kilos more than I do today

Yes, exactly, Josefa—if you look closely, you’ll see stripes on one part and something like a quilted pattern on another part of the hoodie. That’s what makes it nice and warm, and when it’s not too cold, it can even function as a jacket.
I once sewed this one for one of my grandsons—he loves it. It was a birthday wish he had for me: “Grandma, would you please sew me a hoodie like this?” he asked, and he’d already picked out the sewing pattern on his phone :-) Grandma didn’t need to be asked twice :-)

Nice color

My theory is that, aside from being comfortable, they also have pockets! Since women’s pants often don’t have any, that’s great for us girls. And of course, they’re cozy, too.

It’s comfortable, has pockets, and a practical hood. Jacket hoods are usually too big for me, so wearing a hoodie underneath is ideal.

Hoodies make me feel cozy. But I hate them because you have to pull them over your head. Glasses... hair... Ever since I started having hot flashes, I don’t like wearing them anymore because I can’t get them over my head fast enough. I like hoodie-style sweatshirt jackets. Those are a breeze to put on.
