Christmas nostalgia—that means the things you still tell and show your children and grandchildren as an adult from your own Christmas days. That’s Christmas you can touch, just like it used to be. Here are a few suggestions from me for you. For more pictures, information, and the pattern, just click on the headings.

Maybe my handmade ideas will become your future Christmas nostalgia items.

Warm regards from Ina

Snowflake Gift Tag

It is stiffened and can therefore be decorated or hung up however you like.

Christmas or Gift Bag

You can give all sorts of lovely little things in this pretty little bag. Later, children will enjoy using it for play. The bottom of the bag is double-layered and sturdy.

St. Nicholas Boot
If you’re quick, you can still manage to crochet it. Many individual hexagons are joined together to make a unique and very special St. Nicholas boot.

Even as a small child, my Aunt Lore taught me how to crochet—I remember her crocheted doilies, bells, and angels at Christmas time very well—I hope she’s watching from “up above” now and is happy to see what came from the seeds she planted almost 50 years ago:

1) Cute little bells with bows in 2 sizes each

2) Angels in 3 sizes

3) Stars - the star with a tail is worked using a combination of Tunisian and traditional crochet. A regular crochet hook without a thick handle is sufficient.

4)  Cute wing in three sizes - Tunisian crochet, a regular crochet hook is enough.

5) If you want two mirrored wings, this beautiful pair of wings with a heart might be just the thing for you.

6) Cute angels - With an LED tea light underneath, they glow magically and cozily when it gets dark outside.

7) Bookmark and keychain “Angel with Heart”

8) Little wing pouch with mouse passengers - wonderful for small gifts or for a child’s room

9) Angel “Lovely” - these cute little angels with their embroiderable skirts will enchant your loved ones as much as your home. Thanks to the detailed description including a crochet chart, they are quick and easy to crochet. Tuck 24 little surprises under their skirts and you’ll have an Advent calendar that is sure to be unique.

10) Beautiful angel wings / wings in shabby chic -
the wings are quick to crochet and perfect for using up leftover yarn. The front and back of each wing half are crocheted in one go.

11) The “Romantica” angel wings also use a little Tunisian crochet - but it works with a regular crochet hook.

12) Cute star baskets in 2 variations - tealight holders, little gift bags, table decorations, etc.

What would Christmas be without a proper nativity scene? You can crochet the nativity figures yourself and creatively use up lots of small bits of leftover yarn.
In my shop you’ll find crochet patterns for nativity figures about 10 cm tall. I think that’s ideal—not too big and not too small.

Holy Family: Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus in the manger, ox, donkey, poinsettia

Shepherd scene: Christmas angel, 3 different shepherds, sheep (standing), sheep (lying down)

Three Wise Men: Caspar, Melchior, Balthazar, camel, elephant, horse

For me, stars of all kinds are an essential part of Christmas, and they always have been: Even when I was a child, we had them at home as string lights, garlands, Christmas tree toppers, and—in many different styles—as Christmas tree ornaments.

That’s probably why there are so many stars as decorations in my store. I’d like to showcase a few of them here.

These little tea light holders add a cozy touch during the holiday season.

This tea light holder looks very elegant and complements a festively set table.

These stars make the perfect window decoration.

This Advent star is designed to be hung from the ceiling.

These two stars are also meant to be hung; they’re even available in two sizes.

All the stars are made primarily of photo cardstock, though some are combined with other materials.
