Hi,
what would you do if you won millions in the lottery?
You often find yourself wondering what it would be like to win the lottery and what you could do with the money.
My big dream is to have a large farm that would become an animal sanctuary, and I would support everything related to animal welfare.
Unfortunately, it didn’t work out again today :-( but I’m not giving up hope
What would you do with that much money?
Maybe an old farmhouse turned into a bed-and-breakfast. I’d bake cakes, and my husband would take the guests on bike tours. The kids could help out in the barn and feed the animals—there are so many animals we could take in. A big garden. Maybe a little thrift shop too.
But I don’t play the lottery, and I have my doubts about whether I could actually pull it all off.
That’s a lovely idea. Who knows where life will take us. I have a lottery ticket like that through my bank. Last year, I won 500 euros once and 100 euros another time. So there’s still plenty of room for improvement.
The most I’ve ever won was 200 euros, but I’m really not giving up hope that I’ll win more someday to make my dream come true. I donate whenever I can, but I’d love to do so much more. All the cats I’ve ever had either wandered into my life or were brought to me for one reason or another, and I was happy to take them in.
Winning the lottery is definitely great and reassuring when you don’t have to count every penny. But isn’t health the most important thing in life? After all, you can’t buy health with all the money in the world.
Of course, health is the most important thing! But unfortunately, money makes the world go round. There’s a woman here nearby who has to move out of the house she’s been renting—which comes with a large property where she keeps rescued horses—because the owner wants to sell the house for a very high price. If I had enough money, I would have bought the whole place and she could have stayed there forever.
Every now and then I actually play the lottery and wonder, “What if?”
But I’m at an age now where my major material desires have been fulfilled, and I’m too old to start over with a sanctuary like that. A roof over my head, enough to eat, and always a ball of yarn in the house—that’s enough for me.
So I’d pass on a million-dollar win; I can think of a few people who could really use it.
I’m definitely too old for a fresh start like that, but as Imelda69 writes, you could hire helpers to coordinate and manage the whole thing.... we’re talking about several million, after all.
....a little “la masseria”—a small farm in Italy, somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Far away from all the noise and hustle and bustle, with an old village nearby where you can still buy the “beautiful” things. Supporting the “local shops”… and simply enjoying life....
That would be my dream. 💖😍😍
Well, a million is probably gone faster than you think...
I’d have my apartment completely renovated and move into a fancy hotel during that time, so I wouldn’t have to deal with any of it. And I’d hire people—who I’d pay well—to move things in and out, so that everything would be nice and tidy again when I got home.
