Beautiful Christmas decorations can still be made from small leftover bits of yarn:

You only need about 10 g of cotton yarn with a yardage of 142 m / 100 g for this decorative, star-shaped tealight holder. I used Catania glamour because it contains a beautiful silver glitter thread as a companion yarn.

The little moose can be a keychain and a Christmas tree ornament. Or you can use it to decorate your gift packages.

This wonderful Christmas tree ornament. is made from glitter yarn or solid-colored cotton yarn. With this pattern, you can crochet a little bell, a snowflake, a star, and a small angel.

The Quick Angel  is also a wonderful and decorative leftover-yarn project. You can crochet the little angels in bright colors as shown in the picture or in a single color.

For one of these cute star gnomes, you’ll need about 20 g of cotton yarn. You can use them as pincushions or make a colorful garland from several of them.

And finally, the most wonderful Christmas leftover-yarn project: self-crocheted nativity figures. Here you can rummage through your leftover yarn box to your heart’s content and crochet completely individual figures. In the patterns, I’ve listed for each figure which yarn I used and how much of it. That way you can best compare with your leftovers and choose what works best.
I have 3 crochet patterns for nativity figures in my shop:

Holy Family
with Mary, Joseph, the Christ Child in the manger, ox, donkey, and poinsettia
Shepherd Scene
with 3 different shepherds, 2 different sheep, and the Christmas angel
 Three Wise Men
with Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar, as well as 3 pack animals: camel, elephant, and horse.

So, now I hope you have lots of fun with your Christmas leftover-yarn crochet projects!

The “Good Vibration” scarf requires only 2 x 100g of yarn with a length of 320m; it’s important that the two colors contrast strongly.
The patterns are beginner-friendly, and the scarf knits up quickly.

This tissue box cover is also great to crochet from colorful leftover yarn—and to give as a gift. You can create really creative decorations with it. I’ve given it as a gift many times, and it’s always been well received.

This little lantern is a particularly handy companion for the St. Martin’s Day parade, and it’s very easy to make from scrap photo cardstock. You can also use up your leftover transparent paper while you’re at it—even the tiniest scraps!

The lantern is only about 20 cm tall, made from photo cardstock and transparent paper, easy to recreate, and well-suited even for beginners.

Do you still have some yarn left over from your last winter project? For this cozy cowl, you only need 1.5 skeins of bulky yarn. This project is perfect for beginners in Tunisian crochet and, with its impressive pattern, is definitely an eye-catcher in the cold season.

If you’ve accumulated scraps of cardstock in colors that suit Christmas, here’s your chance to turn them into beautiful Christmas tree ornaments.

It does take a little time to cut out all the individual pieces for the 9 cm ornaments and decorate them with glitter liner, but it’s fun, easy to do, and yields great results!

Crochet pattern for a lantern / vase - here you can crochet around various jars using leftover yarn.

For small doll shoes you only need very little yarn. This model is knitted with a set of double-pointed needles, and there are two different versions.

For this crocheted blanket, I used many leftovers of one yarn. I started in the middle with the smallest amount and then kept choosing the next larger leftover amount. Knowledge of chain stitches and double crochet is required.

Crochet pattern for a balloon cover - here you can crochet up your leftovers with individual granny squares. These are then sewn together into a ball, so the balloon is well protected.

These little motif cloths can be used as cuddle cloths or as washcloths. You can use up leftover yarn from the same yarn in two different colors for them (depending on the model, approx. 20–35 g per color). All the cloths shown here are knitted in double-face.

For this cute reversible hat, you only need approx. 20 to 50 g per color, depending on the size. It is knitted in double-face, so it can be worn on both sides.

Charming motifs can also be created with crochet. Even the littlest ones love cuddling these cozy cloths, and later they can be reused as washcloths. Just a little more than half a ball of yarn per color is enough to crochet these lovely cloths.
