Is leather out of style?

Dear users, dear authors,
Would you say that leather as a material for clothing, bags, shoes, accessories, etc. is now out of style?

Nah, I wouldn’t put it that way, because in the long run, a leather shoe is more sustainable than one made of plastic like polyester, etc. Just like a leather belt always looks better than a cord or webbing belt—at least in men’s fashion. With handbags, it’s a bit different—as long as it’s leather that’s a byproduct of slaughtering livestock, it might be okay, BUT as soon as exotic leather comes into play, in my eyes it’s a total NO-GO

I don’t see it that way. I only wear high-quality, soft leather shoes because leather is breathable and gives as you move. Yes, it’s much more expensive than faux leather or synthetic materials, but it also lasts much, much longer and is simply more comfortable to wear because of its properties. Personally, I don’t really need leather bags, but that’s only because I tend to use a backpack.

Back in the ’80s, leather skirts were in fashion. I even had a tight black pencil skirt and thought I looked chic in it. But now—40 years later—I don’t need that anymore.

I imagine bikers still place a lot of value on leather clothing because it offers good protection when riding fast. Whenever our foster daughter comes to visit us on her motorcycle, she’s dressed in leather from head to toe.

I also have a few nice leather jackets in my closet. I wouldn’t want to be without them. They’re really soft and very comfortable to wear. I think modern or timeless leather jackets will always be in demand.
