Sign of Life

We're currently in the midst of a stressful move.
My current apartment has only one power source left, since the rest of the electrical wiring is broken.
We're moving one street over.

....then I wish you "lots of perseverance"..... 
The new apartment can only be nicer. 

Oh dear... but after that, everything will be new and nice. And exciting, until everything has found its place again. I’m sure you’ll find all sorts of yarn that you didn’t even know you had......

Dear Marlene, it’s good that you’re moving now, while it’s still fall. That way, everything will be back in its right place by Christmas, and you’ll have had time to settle in. But first, you have to get the move done and deal with the challenges. At least you have one power source. It’s going to be in constant use now, since everything needs electricity these days. We’re all keeping our fingers crossed for a quick and hassle-free move.

By the way, I once moved on December 1st—just before Christmas. It wasn’t fun at all! It was absolutely terrible for the kids, but for me, too. It was cold and dark outside, and inside—just chaos—with none of that cozy Christmas spirit. But you can get through even that if you have to.

I hope everything goes smoothly for you, too. Moving always has its good sides. You even discover lots of treasures while cleaning up, and it’s the best way to declutter. I know all about it—we’ve moved many times. And every time, we’ve been able to start fresh.

It’s sure to be even nicer than it was before. Look forward to it.

It’s also a good opportunity to declutter.

Whenever you move, you come across familiar old things while clearing out the cupboards—that’s perfectly normal. I moved two years ago myself, though only from the first floor to the ground floor, but I used the opportunity to do a thorough clear-out—it’s crazy how much stuff had accumulated over 26 years.

We just moved, too—the moving boxes are still scattered everywhere. Since our cabinets won’t arrive for another 1–2 weeks, we can’t really put much away yet.
You’ve moved more times than I have—15 times, in fact. I think this is my 10th time.

You’ll manage just fine, and I’m sure you’ll have everything cozy and settled by Christmas.

I’ve “only” moved 10 times so far, but that’s more than enough for me. In any case, each time has had the magic of a fresh start, and that’s always been really nice.

Once the stress is over, it’ll be nice.
If it weren’t for the furniture and other heavy items, we could just carry our stuff over to the other apartment.
