It’s still early enough for Advent projects that are a bit more involved and therefore take some time.

With this knight’s castle Advent calendar, I’d like to suggest just such a project to you: The calendar isn’t difficult to recreate, but it does require a bit of patience, precision, and, of course, time.

The Advent calendar is made of photo board and measures approximately 18.5 x 34 x 18.5 cm. The tower in the middle can be removed and serves as a container for gifts that don’t fit into the small numbered compartments.

A particularly cute Advent calendar is this set of gnomes with their gnome house. The gnomes can be crocheted from colorful leftover yarn in various sizes and then filled with sweet surprises. The gnome house is for December 24, when all the gnomes can move in. Of course, it can also be wonderfully used later as a storage basket.

All parts are very easy to make and also suitable for beginners with basic knowledge.

If you’d like to crochet your own Advent calendar, don’t wait too long to start. Here are two suggestions from my shop:

The little fir trees are hollow inside and can be crocheted in various sizes. This creates a little fir forest as an Advent decoration, and a little surprise is hidden under each tree!
Click here for the crochet pattern for the little fir trees!

Do you also have a few particularly curious little ones in your family who keep secretly trying to see what surprises are hidden in the Advent calendar? You can counter that with this Advent calendar. Santa refills his sack every night with a new surprise for the following day.
So the decoration can look a little different every day, the individual pieces (sleigh, reindeer, Santa, sack) are not permanently attached to each other, but crocheted separately. This way, you can arrange them in different positions again and again.
For example:
or like this:

You can find the crochet pattern for Santa with his sack, sleigh, and reindeer here!

Not everyone has such a wonderful crocheted Advent wreath!
Reusable year after year, and absolutely safe with LED tea lights too ♥
Advent Wreath ROBIN

Also extraordinary is the cute Fox Advent calendar
The crocheted cone bags can be filled individually.

And of course, the Advent Knobblys are a must!
The little bag charms make great gifts and, of course, they also look lovely in an Advent arrangement or on the Christmas tree ♥

Anyone who wants to make their own Advent calendars for their partner, friend, children, or grandchildren and fill them individually can definitely start now. Of course, that also goes for Christmas decorations. Done is done! Here are a few suggestions from me for you. I hope you enjoy looking at them and making them yourself. For more information, pictures, and the pattern itself, simply click on the headings.

Warm regards from Ina

Colorful Advent Calendar/Christmas Calendar

We crochet a total of 24 little bags. It’s fun, and you can use up your leftover yarn. We then arrange them standing on a pretty tray, which we decorate for Christmas, or hang them on a clothes hanger. Of course, you still need to fill the little bags. The little stars with the 24 numbers are included in the pattern as a printable template.

St. Nicholas Boot

This is another must-have for the Christmas season. This one is guaranteed to be one of a kind, because you can make it in the recipient’s favorite colors. Once the contents have been eaten, it still makes a lovely decoration.

Christmas or Gift Bag

A pretty little bag for giving gifts. You can crochet it in Christmas colors or in the recipient’s favorite colors. The bottom is double-layered and sturdy.

Advent Wreath Made of Pom-Poms - Free Pattern

I made this wreath for my home. It’s made of lots of pom-poms that I attached to a half Styrofoam ring. Then just secure the baubles with hot glue, and you have a very special Advent wreath that will never shed needles. You can place it on the table or hang it on the wall.

Candy Cane - Free Pattern

This is also a little fun project I made for Christmas: a candy cane. We crochet 2 strips and then twist them around a wire. You can hang it on the Christmas tree, tuck it into an arrangement, or use it to decorate a wrapped gift.

Special Christmas Ornament Decoration for Knitting Fans  - Free Pattern

Yes, this is also a little fun project that draws attention. I created a little still life for knitting fans inside an acrylic ornament. Just because I thought it looked pretty. In light colors, it makes a lovely decoration.

Winter Cape for Small Dolls

All doll moms are sure to be delighted with this pretty cape during the Christmas season. It is knitted in one piece.

With this Advent calendar, too, it’s important to start working on it early enough.

The fairly spacious little house is made of photo board and measures approximately 17.5 x 22 x 20.5 cm. Assembling the individual compartments is very easy, but to ensure everything fits together well in the end, it’s very important to work carefully.

The borders and numbers drawn with a glitter liner take some time to dry, so be sure to factor that into your planning as well.

This Advent calendar takes up very little space and has compartments in very different sizes. This adds variety, but also presents a small challenge: For the tiny compartments at the top, you’ll need especially small gifts.

The Advent calendar consists of individual compartments that are glued together. This isn’t difficult, but it does require precision and a little time.

The calendar is made of photo cardstock and measures approximately 13 x 30 x 15 cm.

This Advent calendar is especially easy to make, but it still takes time. So it’s best to get started right away!

The calendar is made of cardstock and consists of simple hexagonal boxes. When finished, it measures approximately 33.5 x 35.5 x 5.5 cm. To ensure everything fits together properly in the end, precision is very important.

You can also use these sweet, glittery little snowflakes as an Advent calendar. A small pocket is worked into the back. You can tuck your little Advent surprise in here. Or decorate your gift package with a little snowflake. Then you can put a greeting card with the recipient’s name into the pocket on the back.
Click here for the crochet pattern for the snowflake.
