It’s finally the weekend: what are your plans?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. What are your plans?

Dear Josefa,
today—Sunday—I’m looking forward to a quiet day. Later, I plan to spruce up an old plastic kids’ table that’s desperately needed for the grandkids to play on.

Friday and Saturday were hectic—my son, daughter-in-law, and grandkids were here. In the evening, we were invited to my sister’s for a barbecue; it turned into a long, balmy summer evening. Today I’m just enjoying the peace and quiet. My husband is about to go fishing, and I’m going to work on my table.

I took it easy today after yesterday :-) I went clothes shopping in town with my daughter and granddaughter (10), from the city center back to the car once, and I was absolutely done in, as we say here. My daughter and granddaughter also went into H&M here, but came back out pretty quickly. I asked what was wrong, and my granddaughter just said, “Grandma, there’s nothing but frilly stuff hanging there and nothing for me.” :-) :-) :-) I have to add that my granddaughter isn’t into ruffles and such on shirts and pants, and she doesn’t like bling-bling either. But thank goodness we found something at Wöhrl and C&A. We were out and about for a good 4 hours, and in the evening Grandma fell half exhausted into bed and slept for pretty much 12 hours straight. It was the first time in over a year that I’d gone for a stroll and shopping afternoon, and it stressed me a bit too, because I’d only been in town here when I had an important doctor’s appointment, otherwise not; then I’d go in and head straight back home as fast as possible. It really did my soul good to do something with the two of them again, but it also cost me energy.
