It’s windy and otherwise very quiet; we stayed home because I’m having severe pain again right now, so I can’t do much walking—wherever I might be able to walk a bit, half the city is out and about, and the rates here are still very high.
Today I’m taking it very easy; my husband and I are celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary, which we’ll mark this afternoon with coffee and cake—otherwise, it’s just a normal day like any other. We both agree that having each other and having made it through the pandemic so far is reason enough to be content. Tomorrow I’ll get my second shot; then, in 14 days, I’ll be virtually immune to the virus, but my husband is still waiting for his first shot.
Pentecost was, like everything else these days, very quiet.
After my lunch break, I have English class later. After work, I’m going to go out for a bit with Leo (assuming the wind doesn’t blow us away… I already had to go collect our patio furniture from the neighbors earlier…) and once he’s in bed, I’ll finish sewing together a hat and a pair of pants :) Let’s see if it works out :)
Dear Inge, congratulations to you and your husband on 31 years together. Have a lovely afternoon together and enjoy it.
Pentecost was very quiet for us. Some of the children are on vacation (our grandson, that is), so it was very quiet here. The weather was very windy, almost stormy, and we took advantage of the breaks in between to go for a walk. Other than that, a little knitting and a little gardening.
Oh, and of course, congratulations from me too! That completely slipped my mind :)
Josefa, I have an intensive English course every Tuesday through work.
I work in technical sales and have contact with people from all over the world. Basically, I don’t have any problems with the language… It’s more about overcoming my inhibitions. I signed up for this on my own because sometimes on the phone I freeze up like a total klutz and can’t get a word out… even though I actually know how to speak it.
Dear Inge,
warmest congratulations to you and your husband on your wedding anniversary. That’s quite an achievement!
Pentecost was a bit of a mixed bag. Since I was at home, I “got to” “enjoy” the new tenants above me. They don’t seem to be the most skilled handymen, because it always sounded as if whatever they were hammering together was about to fall apart again. There was a terrible rumbling, and my lamp was shaking. It’s been going on like this for two weekends now, and there seems to be no end in sight...
