Sharing patterns???

Hello everyone,
maybe the subject line is poorly chosen.

From my side, I’m aware of the legal aspect.

But what about the other way around?

If someone comes to me with a pattern (no matter where from) and wants me to make something for them.

Example: In this case, years ago it was my mother who wanted a vest knitted. The pattern came from a magazine. I also made one for myself. But this isn’t about my mother, it’s
general.

Here’s how I see it: if the pattern has already been purchased by that person and is made available to you, so to speak, as a loan for the time you need to make the item (not copied—that’s important!), that should be fine. 

But to be on the safe side, I would check with the author of the pattern or the publisher of the magazine.
