how's the weather where you are?

Here in southeastern Bavaria, it’s still calm, and the sun peeks out from time to time. But starting tonight, we’re supposed to get some snow here, and it’s going to get bitterly cold by the weekend.

It snowed here in Franconia last night!

Here in western Saxony, it’s been pouring down since Friday evening—you can hardly get anywhere... and on top of that, it’s freezing cold.

It’s snowing here in Styria, too

Here in northern Baden-Württemberg, it’s been snowing since this morning. But it’s too warm, so the snow isn’t sticking.

Here in Hamburg, it feels incredibly cold. It’s -4 degrees, but with the east wind, it feels like -12. But we don’t have any snow, and the streets are clear.

There’s no snow in the Alte Land or the Cuxhaven district either, but there’s an icy wind. It was storming fiercely until noon today. Now the wind is blowing “normally” again.
But since I’m still recovering from my sinus infection anyway, I’m enjoying lounging on the sofa under a cozy blanket and am glad I don’t have to go outside.

Here in Lower Saxony, it’s snow chaos—yesterday was a marathon of shoveling snow.
We thought the big storm was over today, but now it’s started snowing again, and the strong wind keeps causing snowdrifts—not to mention the freezing temperatures.



My cats are outdoor cats and aren’t used to this much snow—for them, it’s an absolute nightmare because they get completely buried in it. So they’d rather stay home.
Luckily, I can stay home too and leave the car parked. Aside from all the shoveling (I don’t even know where to put it all anymore), I’m enjoying the white splendor—we haven’t had this in soooo... long. Now all we need is some sunshine, and everything will be perfect for a great winter walk :-)

Here in the Black Forest—which is usually covered in snow—it’s just plain nasty, slushy, gray, and yuck.

It is snowing a little, but apart from a thin layer of powdered sugar on the car, nothing is sticking.

Even though I really love snow... After we had such an excessive amount of it in January, I’m glad it’s someone else’s turn to deal with it ;) 

Here on the edge of the Swabian Alb (BW), the sun was actually shining around noon today. Then, around 5 p.m., I looked out the office window and saw that it was snowing.

It’s settling on the branches and bushes, but not on the street. We’ll see what it’s like tomorrow morning. I’ve already closed everything up and don’t want to see it. 

Here in the Hochtaunus region, it’s cold and there’s a little snow on the ground.

In the Swiss Plateau, the sun briefly peeked through once, but otherwise the clouds dominated, and when I cycled home in the afternoon, the wind nearly froze my ears off despite my (admittedly rather thin) hat. The temperature is now expected to drop steadily, and sub-zero days with a Bise (north wind) are forecast for the weekend—brrr! Only the very last remnants of snow remain along the roadsides.

Well, it’s quietly snowing here again. Not big flakes, mind you, but as the saying goes, “Every little bit counts.” I’m ignoring it for now, but I’ll probably have to shovel snow again sometime this morning—there are already a few centimeters on the ground.

It’s -8° right now, but thankfully there’s no fresh snow in sight; it’s still bitterly cold here on the Main—lucky are those who don’t have to go outside

Your snowy landscapes look really interesting. I can’t help but laugh because you’ve gotten more snow than we have here in Norway.
Today we have glorious sunshine and blue skies, which I love so much, but... it feels like -20 °

We have snow here this morning. It snowed overnight. It was already bitterly cold yesterday. I might just take out my cake pan after all to bake an ice cake. Maybe I’ll have better luck this week.

I’ve already been able to do quite a bit in the garden... but now everything’s white again... after this cold week ahead, I’d love for it to start feeling like spring... we have a cold east wind here in the Bavarian Forest.....

A few snowflakes are falling from the sky again right now! Roofs and meadows are still covered with a thin white blanket, and early this morning the bushes and trees were beautifully dusted with snow; paths and roads wind through the landscape like black ribbons, with a temperature of 2.4°. But the temperature is expected to drop drastically soon.

This morning around 9 a.m., it was still -12°, and now it has “warmed up” to -9° ;-), the sky is still overcast; a kind of low stratus has settled in here, not the kind of weather to go outside

Petra, what exactly is an “ice cake”? I’m really curious. :)

It’s around 0 degrees here and it’s snowing. Let’s see how much we get—it might not be too bad. Starting tomorrow night, temperatures will drop into the double-digit sub-zero range. But by the weekend after next, daytime highs are supposed to reach up to 10 degrees above zero. So spring is on the horizon, at least a little bit.
