Dear users, dear authors,
what are you currently crafting with?

I currently have 8 skeins of sock yarn wound up at the same time. Since I don’t want them to get tangled or bounce around and roll away, I’ve given each one a temporary home in a glass jar. That makes it easy to work with them.

Great idea. Is that regular yellow and neon yellow?

I’m doing doubleface again already—this time with a soft alpaca-merino blend.

...and I'm currently crocheting Nessie, a sea monster, out of cotton.... I'm almost done—just a little "decoration," so to speak, a few spots on the body.

I’m working on a comfort blanket made from Baby Cotton and an amigurumi made from standard cotton. The book with the cute little animals arrived today, and I just had to get started right away—against all reason and my good intentions (to finish what I’ve already started…). For other projects, I have some high-quality sock yarn ready for long gloves and a wool-acrylic blend for doll clothes.

Josefa, yes, you saw that right: 1 skein of regular yellow, 1 skein of neon yellow—even sock yarn comes in neon colors. But you won’t be seeing much of this one later on, because I’m using it along with 7 other colors. They’re all just scraps that are now being turned into a cover for my exercise ball.

The neon yellow doesn't stand out anymore—that's true.
Why do you want to completely cover your exercise ball? Don't they actually have a very durable rubber cover?

I have a super-soft alpaca-silk-cashmere blend on my needles.

As always, cotton with a length of 125 meters per 50 grams.

I wanted to crochet a summer top, but I don’t feel like buying different yarn, and I don’t know how to read crochet patterns.

It wasn’t easy at all to find a pattern for this cotton yarn that was explained in rows.

Luckily, I found what I was looking for on Mili’s page, even if it’s not 100% exactly what I had in mind. I’m going to get started now and see how it turns out.

Dear Mili, if you’re reading this, I’d love a pretty halter-neck top made of cotton. Maybe you’d feel like making one 😁

Warm regards, Diana

I’m finally finishing my felt bag—I think it’s been sitting around since 2013. Actually, there was just a short section left to knit (the strap) and a pad for the shoulder strap. I’ll check to see if I’ve already posted a photo of it; if not, I’ll do that later. Wow, I have so many projects I’ve started! I need to finish those first… but then again, it’s winter now, so I don’t need summer hats—I’d rather start new winter hats and scarves, as well as shawls. Wrist warmers and gloves. All kinds of slippers.

I’ve taken a really close look at the felt slippers I bought. A sole like on espadrilles, a layer of felt on top and bottom of the sole, a sort of opening on top to slip your foot in, a few letters on it—done!

However, since a friend is expecting a little boy—maybe the baby of the family, who knows—I’ve decided to finish this bag for her as a diaper bag. With plenty of compartments for diapers and baby care products, plus a change of clothes for Mom (! Boys like to pee on Mom’s belly and higher—with my younger one, it even came with “reinforcements”—he always drank and ate very well, that’s all I’ll say, hehe. Now he’ll be 24 in June, and the older one even turned 29 on January 28. Next year, it’s time to sweep the town hall—and that’s exactly what’ll happen. He shows absolutely no interest in venturing into the world of women) and a compartment for food in general. She’ll probably want to breastfeed him for a while, but when they’re out and about, it might be better for her to have some pumped milk with her.

I’m currently trying to crochet a bouquet of tulips for myself using Catania or Twister (125 m per 50 g).
I hope this bouquet actually stays with me this time...
The last two “moved on” very quickly.

I’m currently working with Lei by Lana Grossa, since I’ve recently started trying my hand at nålebinding. It’s a very fuzz-prone process, since you always have to pluck off a piece of wool and felt it on again. And it’s difficult to work evenly, since you only hold the “stitches” on your thumb. But for a first attempt, I’m very satisfied, and it’s actually a little bit addictive...

Hi Josefa,
Why do I want to cover an exercise ball, which has a smooth surface? Because I sit on it when I’m working at my computer. In the winter, the smooth rubber surface is always cold when I sit on it. So I’ve always draped a blanket over it. But that’s impractical because the ball keeps rolling away, and the blanket goes with it. In the summer, you stick to it when you sit on it because the rubber doesn’t absorb moisture. So I always had to put a blanket over it then, too, which would get caught somewhere as the ball rolled away.

Conclusion: I needed a cover for the ball. So I crocheted one. Now it feels very comfortable temperature-wise and is also nice and soft. You move around much more when sitting on a ball than you would in an office chair. It’s both comfortable and a workout for the lower back. With the cover, it’s now perfect for me.

Best regards, Ina
