Crafting Meditation

Dear users, dear designers,
is crafting meditation?

I had to ask online first, and I can say that for me, yes.

When I’m doing handicrafts, I forget about the rest of the world and the things that weigh on my mind. I’m distracted, and my handicrafts bring me joy. As a result, I feel good while I’m crafting, and I’m content and happy. 

I agree with Petra 100%. For me, too, knitting or crocheting is the best form of meditation in the world. It’s how I relax best.

Yes, definitely—at least for me. When I’m designing embroidery patterns or a sewing pattern, I can get so absorbed that I don’t hear or see anything except what’s right in front of me, and afterward I feel wonderfully relaxed :-)
But I feel the same way when I’m sitting at my keyboard and playing.

For me, definitely.
When I’m knitting, I can totally zone out, and I need that to unwind.

I can only agree....
For me, it’s the only kind of meditation that helps. I’ve tried lots of others and had to realize that the others tend to make me aggressive or make me tense up completely.... 
So knitting and crocheting are my way to relax. Preferably with complicated patterns or lots of counting. Just knitting only knit stitches isn’t for me either, so a raglan sweater isn’t relaxing to knit. 
But now, quickly back to my needles....

Something else that’s very meditative for me is doing “Lieseln”—it always helps me calm down when I’m feeling really worked up—and hand-quilting can also be very meditative.
