And if you’d like to crochet the
2020 Animal of the Year: Voilà, here is Poldi, the
mole. I think a mole is a pretty fitting animal for last year, because it really was a year that made you want to hide underground!
To crochet Poldi, you’ll need:
- approx. 25 g Catania cotton yarn in black (yardage 125 m / 50 g)
- leftover Catania cotton yarn in skin color (= soft apricot) (yardage 125 m / 50 g)
- 2.5 mm crochet hook
- polyester stuffing for filling
- 1 pair of googly eyes (diameter approx. 6 mm)
- craft glue
- 1 pair of doll glasses, width 35 mm (hole size approx. 13 mm)

Hopefully the coming year will be better. For that, we wish ourselves and everyone good luck, so we’re crocheting
Felix the Lucky Piglet as a lucky charm. He has put on his chimney sweep outfit, tucked a four-leaf clover into his hat, and is now offering you a horseshoe and a lucky mushroom. Well, if that doesn’t bring good luck!
To crochet Felix, you’ll need:
- leftover cotton yarn (Catania by Schachenmayr or similar, yardage 125 m / 50 g) in the colors soft apricot (= skin), black, green, red, white
- 2.5 mm crochet hook
- craft stuffing
- 2 black half pearls, diameter 7 mm
- glue
