Happy New Year's Eve: What are you up to?

Dear users, dear authors,
I wish you a pleasant New Year’s Eve and hope that 2021 will be a better year for all of us than 2020 was. What are your plans?

Nothing

For us it will be a normal day and evening. We’ll dutifully stay at home after dark, because at 8 p.m. the sidewalks will be rolled up.

There will be something special: Dinner for One; I’ll watch it, as I do every year.
And before going to bed, we’ll switch on the Disney Channel and watch a spectacular fireworks display there.

Dear Josefa and everyone who stops by here,

I, too, wish everyone a wonderful and creative year that will be better than the last one.
Tonight will be a quiet New Year’s Eve, which suits me just fine. At least that way, no animals will suffer from the fireworks.

I’m going to cozy up with my husband, and we’ll probably play some games and listen to music. We’ll take it easy and then toast to a great 2021.

Dear Josefa and everyone stopping by here, I wish you a happy New Year in 2021. Stay healthy and don’t lose hope that things will get better again.

We’re actually celebrating with my parents, just like every year—but this New Year’s Eve is different because the kids are joining us. We’ll play games, I’ve prepared a nice meal, and we’ll listen to some music on the side. I don’t miss fireworks at all, and I’m glad there are few or none—that way, no animals suffer, I don’t have to calm a dog down, and the hospitals have enough on their plates.

We’re staying home. We’re glad there won’t be any fireworks. Our pets are happy about that, too.
