Mauzi the cuddly kitten is crocheted using three different types of yarn: For the head, paws and tail, I used fine chenille yarn. This makes the kitten wonderfully soft and cuddly. For the body, I chose teddy yarn and cotton yarn. The different textures of the two yarns give the kitten a very special feel, encouraging the baby to explore the cuddly toy again and again through touch.

Bibo the warming monkey is also crocheted using different types of yarn. Since I wanted this grain pillow cover to be usable as a cuddly toy as well, I crocheted the head, arms and legs with plush teddy yarn. Because the body is meant to hold the warmed grain pillow, it is crocheted from cotton yarn, which is more heat-resistant.

I love sponge yarn! Leftovers can be used wonderfully as a fringed trim for doll clothes. This ice-skating costume for fashion dolls is crocheted from cotton yarn (Catania). The hem, the cuffs, the neckline and the ear warmers are made from glittery sponge yarn (Rico Creative Bubble). It looks a bit like fur, but shimmers in iridescent colours.

Crochet Pattern for a Small Lovey

This little elephant is easy to make. You should know how to do double crochet, chain stitches, and single crochet.

The following models aren’t just about one material; they need a few more ingredients to create something new. That’s exciting and fun. Here are my suggestions for you:

Princess bed with all the trimmings

Here we (or the grandpas) make a wooden doll bed. First it’s cut to size, then painted. We (or the grandmas) then sew matching bedding. The beds are filled with synthetic batting, so they can go completely into the washing machine. And then we crochet cushions and a rug. Every doll is sure to feel comfortable in her new doll bed.

Felted shoes with homemade leather soles

Here we combine two different types of wool—first, we need felting wool for the felted shoe. For this model, we can use all our small bits of leftover yarn. For the small cuff, we need a synthetic yarn because it felts along with it. To felt them, the shoes go into the washing machine. Once they are dry, we sew a leather sole underneath. In the description, I show and explain everything to you in detail.

Crocheted wall clock

Here, too, we need different materials: we crochet a doily, which we stretch and stiffen. We paint a round stretcher frame and install a clock mechanism with hands. We attach the stiffened crocheted doily to the stretcher frame—and that gives us an original wall clock.

I wish you lots of joy with all your creative projects. You can get to the pattern and more information by clicking on the headings.

Warm regards from Ina

A wonderful Christmas gift idea using a mix of materials.
The small inner containers have room for candy or other small gifts. The card, which opens in a spiral, offers plenty of space for Christmas greetings, photos, sayings, and the like.

The explosion box is made of photo cardstock, decorated with patterned paper, and measures approximately 12.5 x 9.5 x 14.5 cm. The small inner containers measure approximately 9 x 6 x 7 cm. With a little crafting experience, the box is quick and easy to recreate.
