If you spontaneously want to crochet or knit something new over the weekend, the main requirement is that you have the materials on hand. After all, you want to be able to start right away. So here are my suggestions for a weekend craft project where you’re sure to find something in your yarn stash.
I hope you enjoy looking at them and making them yourself.
Warm regards from Ina
Cowl
You can knit this cowl for yourself, the kids, your husband, or a friend. You’ll need 100 g of yarn for the kids and 150 g for everyone else. So that’s 3 skeins, which you’re sure to still have somewhere. The cowl is ideal for this time of year; it keeps your neck warm and looks lovely too. So it’s just the thing for the weekend—you could already be wearing it on Monday ...
Wrist Warmers
Now that your neck is warm, you could also knit something for your hands. How about a pair of wrist warmers? They’re very practical because your fingers stay free, for example to use your phone. There’s a beautiful cable on top, and the insides are worked in stockinette stitch. The thumb gusset is shaped so they fit well. 50 to 60 g of yarn is enough.
Craft Bucket
This is also a lovely weekend project, because there’s sure to be leftover yarn in every home. The scraps are crocheted one after another into a colorful craft bucket. All around, the bucket has lots of compartments for crochet hooks and the like. Your current project goes inside. That way you always have everything together, and it looks tidy too.
