which season is your favorite?

Yeah, I’m a total fall person—I’m not really into summer; it’s too warm, if not downright too hot.
I even like the gloomy gray days—that’s when you can curl up at home and make yourself comfortable. I really enjoy the golden autumn, though unfortunately we haven’t seen much of it yet this year.
Spring has its charm, too—when nature slowly comes back to life and everything starts to turn green, I find it magical.

I like fall, when the leaves fall from the trees and make a lovely rustling sound as you walk through them. It helps you find a little peace despite the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
I also like spring, when nature becomes colorful again.

Winter is too cold for me, too monotonous, and there’s too much work shoveling snow (which isn’t good for my health anymore), and I can’t—or am not allowed to—ski anymore.

I do like summer in principle—you can watch the vegetables in the garden grow. In the afternoons, we have shade behind the house, so it’s quite pleasant. If necessary, we go to the adjacent stream. It’s just the heat that really gets to me, unfortunately.

I like fall. The rustling of the leaves when you walk through them.
The changing colors of the trees.
Plus, my birthday is in the fall.

Love, Gabi

Every season has its own beauty. And fall, with its warm colors, really goes the extra mile for us. It’s as if it wants us to take one last good look before winter’s slumber sets in.

To get you in the mood for this topic, here are a few photos I took yesterday in my garden. All of this is fall. Why not come along and take a stroll through my fall garden?

Warm regards from Ina

The dahlias are blooming tirelessly. But soon I’ll have to dig up the tubers and store them for the winter:

The water droplets on the leaves always fascinate me in a special way:

These used to be strawflowers. Now they’re futuristic-looking beauties:

The tomato plants still have so many red and unripe fruits. They probably won’t all make it:

There’s always something to discover on the surface of our little pond:

The hydrangea blooms still look beautiful even as they fade. A few of them are already in a vase:

Nature has taken over everything, and every plant has its own autumnal palette of yellow and brown tones:

The marigolds bloom tirelessly. But these are already the new plants grown from the seeds of the previous ones:

We even have tomato plants growing between our stair steps. But these won’t turn into tomatoes anymore:

The withered blossoms also have their own special, somewhat morbid charm. The colors are fading...

There are still more leaves hanging from the cherry tree than lying beneath it, but soon they’ll all be on the ground:

@schnuckelina

You have a wonderful autumn garden.

A tip for the tomatoes:
- put them in a paper bag in a warm place, for example. They will continue to ripen and are still good to eat.

Thank you, @danis-WOLLIGE-welt. I’ll do that. If I don’t like their taste anymore, I’ll use them for cooking. They’re better than any tomatoes from the supermarket anyway.

Oh, Ina, those are gorgeous fall photos from your garden—it looks so cozy there. There’s definitely plenty to see. It’s nice that you “took us along.”
I can’t offer you quite as much. We don’t really have gardens here—usually just a few flowers, a tree, and a hedge—that’s it.
I always love those gorgeous, colorful trees in the fall with their wonderfully vibrant hues. Unfortunately, almost all the leaves are gone now.
And they’re even forecasting sleet here for tomorrow—yes, you read that right. When the time comes, you’ll get the photo as proof.

A little bit of golden October: The view from our bedroom… (not everything belongs to us)
I like fall, too, as long as the fog doesn’t hang over us for days on end or it’s damp and drizzling, like last week.

I like every season ☺. It’s as much a part of life as breathing.

Fall is the season of transience—everything comes to an end, the plants wither, it gets quiet outside, it gets colder, and the leaves change color, which is beautiful.
There’s also a certain charm to enjoying the last warm rays of sunshine, clearing out the garden, harvesting the vegetables—the haystack is full (the reward of summer 😁).
We give thanks for the summer; the cattle return from the Alps to the valley..... we have more time to spend indoors again.... time to be together.... the evenings grow longer....

Very often I have nothing but sunshine and a magnificent view of the sea of fog.... 😋

I like every season—as long as the weather cooperates.

Unfortunately, the photo is a bit blurry.

Other than that, we also saw

Nile geese and robins

and, of course, a few little flowers:

I like every season, too.

In the fall, I love the beautiful colors of the leaves, flying kites, tea after a walk, and candles in the evening.

Wow, what beautiful pictures! Ina, I really enjoyed strolling through your garden. What a joy! All these vibrant colors right now—everything is glowing with color. Thank you too, Marlene, for the tour.

I love fall just as much as I love spring. This time of year is full of romance. I also love it when things get a little calmer and quieter. A hot cup of tea and candlelight, accompanied by the clatter of knitting needles—simply heavenly.

Today I ran into our hedgehog in the garden. We always feed him in the fall so he’ll be well-nourished through the winter. Now I finally got to watch him eat. So cute!

Have a wonderful week, everyone! It’s going to be pleasantly warm again here over the next few days. Time to get some gardening done.

Yeah...
fall—so many colors...
I love running around through the woods and the fallen leaves with Emely, and then sitting comfortably in front of the fireplace and knitting

Fall is my favorite season. The amazing colors—a final burst of color before everything becomes monotonous and settles down. Rustling leaves, drumming raindrops, and it’s cozy indoors. I also like the fall winds. Today there’s wonderful sunshine, mild weather, and the power of the wind. I love it!

In the summer, it’s too hot for me—I always feel like mush on two legs, and everything feels like a chore.

Thanks to everyone for the great photos. This thread is such a joy :)

I like fall—just as I like all the seasons.
For me, it really depends on the weather.
When I think of fall, I think of golden October with lots of colorful leaves and sunshine. Walking outside through the beautiful fall landscape wearing a light hat—it’s wonderful.
I don’t really like to think about a gray November.

Ever since Leo was born last fall, it’s been my favorite season anyway ;)

And he loves fall, too, by the way.
Right now, he loves spending the whole day outside, exploring everything and looking at the colorful leaves on the ground :)
