Dear users, dear authors,
what are you currently working on?

Yesterday I upcycled some old towels and turned them into dish sponges; I had some strips of foam left over from reupholstering chairs. Then I sewed a hanging storage basket out of an old towel so I could keep them tidy and organized in the kitchen.

Since I’m always starting something new and rarely finish anything, I bought 8 gym bags and now I’m allowed to work on the contents of ONE bag each day. Only when a project is finished do I allow myself to start something new—or else another UFO moves up the list; after all, there are “only” 32 unfinished projects... ;-)

It feels a bit like an Advent calendar... ;-)

Just quickly finishing up a cowl so I’ll have some free needles for something colorful and autumnal.

@ Akela: That’s a really great idea

@ Anja: I’d already had that idea too—with boxes—but unfortunately it didn’t work out. I’m curious to see whether it works for you with bags.

I finished my shawl on Saturday. On Sunday, I tried out different crochet patterns, and since yesterday I’ve been crocheting hats.

@Petra
The boxes are just sitting around here too—it didn’t really work out for me either.

So far, though, it’s been really fun with the bags, especially because I can always keep an eye on them.

Otherwise, most of the projects end up being turned into cardigans, since I’m going through menopause and need to be able to take everything off quickly. Sweaters just drive me crazy!

@ Libelle11 - a great idea with the bags

I still have so many UFOs at the moment ... yes, I'm curious to see whether it works.
I'm going to try it with 5 bags so I can use every weekend until Christmas for my blanket.
But I bought myself a new pattern 2 days ago (not like I have any others ; ) , so there are always new ideas lurking here, dangers from addiction central - laugh
Now I'll carry on with the Little Angel project

I finished my daughter’s birthday present yesterday: a washcloth and a back scrubber made from sponge yarn. Today, I knitted on the socks for my second grandchild while I was out and about, and for this evening I’ve set out to make a little guardian angel for a friend who was in an accident.
I like the UFO bags, but right now there are so many new projects (Christmas and birthday gifts) on my list that the UFOs get to enjoy an extended vacation once again.

Extended vacation for the UFOs sounds fun, Christina. :)
And I think the idea with the UFO backpacks is great, too. Luckily, I only have one right now, and it’s lying out in the open on the table, constantly beckoning me. It’ll have to be patient for a bit longer, because I have other things to tackle first.

Today I finished my long-term project right on schedule. It’s a poncho that required two days of painstaking work at the very end. In any case, I’m happy with the result.

Monika, your poncho turned out really pretty. You’ve been working hard on it.

I managed to finish a gift just in time. It’s a hazelnut. I made the big one earlier—that one’s mine.

How cute, Marion! :)
Yes, thank you! I’m also glad now that this massive project is finally finished.

And I’ve started October with a sewing project: a little fall pouch for my fall-blooming plants.

My goodness, you’re all so hard at work! I’m already thinking about “fall,” too. For me, that means snuggling up on the couch. With that in mind, I crocheted myself a poncho. Doesn’t it look cozy?

Great ponchos! I’m totally into Poncholover right now.

Slow and steady wins the race… I’m making slow but steady progress on the bags. However, there was a setback—I had to rip out a project I’d started because I didn’t like it after all. Now I’m trying my hand at a shawl, though I’m not quite sure yet how the shape will look in the end—over my shoulders or around my neck.

I’m also hooked on a photo I saw on Pinterest. As mentioned above, it’s a Poncholover without a pattern, but I’m still trying to figure out exactly how it was made and what kind of yarn I could use for it. It’s driving me crazy that I can’t figure out how it was made…

Photo of the shawl, not tapering to a point for once:

@Libelle, is that a gradient yarn, or are you knitting with different colors?
