Fall time = cuddle time

The two simply belong together—and when it gets chilly and unpleasant outside, cuddling up is even nicer. Here are my suggestions for cozy blankets. You’ll find more sample photos, information, and the pattern by clicking on the headings.

I hope you have lots of fun looking and making them yourself.
Warm regards—yours, Ina

Here the little ones can cuddle up ... sooo soft and warm. Add an easy pattern—what more could you want?

Timeless Baby Blanket Made of Merino Wool

And here the slightly bigger ones can cuddle up—they usually like it colorful, so you can really let your creativity run wild with this crocheted blanket. First we crochet lots of identical squares in different colors. Then we crochet them together. Quickly add a border around it—and the lovely piece is ready for cuddling or playing.

Mosaic Blanket Made of Squares

And then there is also a veeeery fluffy blanket to snuggle into. It feels so soft and cozy, you can even see it in the photos. Afterward, you can practically no longer see any stitches—just lots and lots of cuddly-soft plush. You can snuggle into this blanket, wrap up the baby, and it’s also wonderful for baby photos—as you can see from my “baby.”

When it gets chilly in the evening but you don't want to turn on the heat yet, a grain pillow warmed in the microwave is such a treat! Under a blanket, you can make yourself really cozy with it. And when you go to bed in the evening, a pillow like this can pre-warm the bed while you're still brushing your teeth.
With a crocheted cover, a pillow like this is also a pretty decorative piece when it's not in use—no need to hide it away.
Take a look:

Bibo, the warming monkey
is especially popular with children. Bibo has long arms and legs, so he can give you a real hug.

 Kuschel, the warming bear
is crocheted from the same cuddly material as Bibo.
Both warming animals look almost alive.

And if you prefer something a little more "grown-up," you might crochet this heat pillow cover:
 Heart-shaped heat pillow cover
All three pillow covers are designed for pillows up to about 20 x 20 cm, but can easily be adjusted in size.

For babies, a warm merino wool sleeping bag is an absolute must for snuggling up in bed at night. It provides a sense of security and warmth. This sleeping bag fits babies up to at least 12 months and is easy to knit.

For me, a cardigan—preferably made of merino wool—is an absolute must for snuggling up. I wear it for walks in the fall, and in the winter it’s one of my favorite pieces—it’s cozy and warm.

The cardigan is knitted from the bottom up with raglan sleeves and features built-in pockets. Thanks to the stitch pattern, it fits snugly against the body and is also stretchy. This makes it suitable for multiple sizes (40/42). You should already have some knitting experience to tackle this project.

I also love to snuggle up in my super-soft poncho made from soft sock yarn. It leaves my arms free and allows for plenty of movement, while still keeping my upper body nice and warm. This poncho is very easy to knit, even for beginners with some knitting experience.

Cuddle time for babies!

Your little one will be snug and warm in windy and cold weather with the Sully swaddle blanket. The blanket is great for baby carriers, but also for carrying your baby around at home and sleeping soundly in it ;).

I knitted myself a blanket—though that was two years ago—and it’s really easy to replicate. I started with 3 stitches and knitted diagonally until I had 150 stitches, then decreased again. The blanket is square and measures about 120 cm x 120 cm—the perfect size to drape over your legs when it gets chilly down there.

Thanks for including the stitch count—I’m currently planning to use up my leftover yarn to make a blanket. This works out perfectly. Did you use the yarn doubled or single-strand?
Best regards

Depending on the thickness of the leftover yarn I had on hand, I used either a double or single strand—the main thing was that it be nice and colorful.

Knitting pattern for a blanket - Cable look without a cable needle

Knitted using only knit and purl stitches, this blanket can easily be adjusted to your desired size.

Crochet pattern for a blanket

You start in the center, and the blanket gets bigger with each round - an ideal project for using up all kinds of yarn scraps. The pattern repeats over 2 rounds, and you’ll need to know single crochet, chain stitches, and double crochet.
