Why are baby patterns so popular?

Dear users and authors,
everything for babies is quite popular here on Crazypatterns. Is it because these patterns are small and cute, make great gifts, or can sometimes be made using leftover yarn, fabric scraps, or paper scraps?

There are certainly several factors at play. First of all, people like to give something personal for a birth or a christening. And then, baby items are pretty quick to make because they’re so small. Even beginners feel confident enough to give it a try, and the items are always cute. And some expectant mothers have even rediscovered crocheting or knitting for themselves because they wanted to make something for their baby. (The knitting mom-to-be is a classic, after all 😊)

That makes sense.

I think many expectant moms on maternity leave are (re)discovering the joy of crafting.
  Among my customers, there are also many grandmothers who sew for their grandchildren.
So the demand for new and cute ideas is simply huge.

With all the “COVID babies,” I’m expecting another rush for my baby eBooks toward the end of the year.
They’re definitely a sure bet—everyone should have patterns for babies in their collection.
