The lavender is blooming in our garden, and there’s so much of it that it’s a real joy. A few days ago, I harvested the first flowers—for lavender sachets that I want to put in the closet.
But since I’m not really in the mood for sewing right now, I had a very simple idea this morning for a different way to do it. I’d like to show you how here.
The steps:
- Harvest the lavender and let it dry—either laid flat or hung with the flowers facing down
- Once it’s completely dry, you can easily shake the flowers loose. I start by filling a screw-top jar with them.
- Then all you need to do is fill empty, long, narrow tea bags (made of paper) with them. You can find these at the supermarket or drugstores. They cost around 1 euro on average.
- Fill the bags with the dried lavender flowers and seal them either with tape or a staple.
- Now you can place them in a cabinet or even hang them up.
Have fun making your own!
Here are a few photos to help you understand:

Here’s what the tea bags look like.

Here, I simply sealed the bag with tape. This way, it can easily be placed in the closet or taped to the inside of the closet door.
