Dear users, dear authors,
do you have any tips and tricks on the topic of weaving in ends?

I don’t really have any specific tips or tricks. When making amigurumi, I just crochet the ends into the work as I go. For other projects, like table runners… anything that’s flat—I usually forget to do it, so I end up having to weave in the ends at the very end.

If it’s not possible to crochet the thread into the work, I try to place it at the beginning or end of the piece. There, I weave in the ends or work them into the border.

I usually use the Frankfurt knot. So far, I’ve been lucky—it hasn’t come undone yet.

Otherwise, I crochet it in or finish it at the edge and weave it in there.

Whenever possible, I start a new ball of yarn only at the edge, because it’s easier to weave in the ends there.
Otherwise, I only cut the yarn if there are more than 6 rows to bridge; otherwise, I cross the ends at the edge and carry the other yarn up along the edge.

Weaving in ends: Since the yarn can easily come loose again in open crochet stitch patterns and also doesn’t look nice, I split the ends and weave them in separately in different directions (it takes a little longer, but it’s hardly visible
and is securely woven in). This also makes the ends secure and almost invisible in knitted items made with thicker yarn and
embroidered motifs:

Just like the person before me, I’ve also split the yarn end on my crochet pieces and then tied those ends together. That way, the knot isn’t too thick, is barely noticeable, and holds.
I often crochet the yarn end right into the piece, because I don’t like having too many knots in my crochet pieces.

Well, when I’m crocheting, I always work the ends into the stitches as best I can; when crocheting figures, I sometimes even use the end to sew the pieces together...
When knitting, in stockinette rows I knit the new yarn in, just like with Fair Isle... then I knit the “old” yarn in a little further, and then I just cut off the short ends and continue knitting with the new skein... Otherwise, I only change the yarn at the beginning of each row—it’s easier to weave in the ends that way...
