Dear users, dear authors,
Where/how do you store your yarn?

Does anyone else have anything to add?

Unfortunately, I don’t have such nice yarn shelves as some of you here.
I pack my yarn into boxes (roughly sorted by yarn quality and color), which are then stowed away in all sorts of cabinets or in the space under my bed. Every now and then, I have to go through everything again.

I don't have that much yarn, so it fits nicely in a drawer

I’m in the same boat as ruthk. I have the bottom 6 fabric boxes on our wall unit shelf filled with sorted wool and yarn.
I don’t have shelves as nice as those, though.

I’m in the same boat as Ruth and Andrea. I immediately claimed two of the large drawers in our new sideboard in the hallway. That allowed me to clear out a few boxes. Otherwise, my yarn is also stored in several drawers, cabinets, or even nice cardboard boxes. I plan to use up quite a bit more by the end of the year, so there’ll be room for new yarn again.

My yarn is scattered all over the house, too—in closets, dressers, boxes, and drawers. I’m trying to stay strong and not accumulate any new supplies.

Some of my yarn is in a box.
Another part is out in one of my fruit crates, which I’ve repurposed as shelves.

I have a little sewing room where I keep my yarn and fabrics. Last winter, I managed to pack everything into boxes, sorted by color. I received a lot of yarn from my mother-in-law; she’s taken apart a lot of old items—knitted pieces, store-bought items, things made of yarn, fabric, and so on.

My yarn lives in the attic of our house. That used to be our son’s room. There are long shelves under the sloping ceiling. On the shelves are sturdy plastic boxes with lids. And that’s where the yarn lives. This also protects it from moths. It’s very warm up there under the roof right now, but that doesn’t bother the yarn. It just doesn’t like sunlight—otherwise the colors will fade. So the skylight blind is always down.
