Crochet Pattern for a Shoulder Shawl

I crocheted this shawl using about 400 grams of leftover yarn. It includes many different types of yarn: cotton, silk, mohair, virgin wool, and even a fluffy yarn with angora.

Take a look in your leftover yarn stash to see what combinations work well together. The pattern repeats over 2 rows, and you’ll need to know how to make single crochet, chain stitches, and double crochet.

Hoppel the Cuddly Bunny is crocheted using three different types of yarn: the head, paws, and tail are made of fine, velvety chenille yarn, while the body is made of cotton yarn and cuddly wool. Working with the cuddly wool is no problem at all here, since the body is crocheted entirely with double crochet stitches. This way, you can feel exactly where to insert the hook.

The different textures of the three yarns create a very special tactile experience for the baby, so they’ll want to explore their little bunny over and over again. That’s also why the body isn’t stuffed: this way, the baby can grip it easily, just like a cuddle blanket.

You can really ride on Violetta the Unicorn!

Violetta's head is crocheted with cuddly yarn. This makes it as soft and cuddly as a plush toy. The mane, horn, and bridle are crocheted with cotton yarn. Violetta's body is a soft pool noodle, so injuries or damage to furniture are prevented. And if your child really doesn't want to part with Violetta, they can even take her to bed in the evening, because she has no hard or pointy parts.

Ingo the hedgehog has lots of quills, but they don’t prick at all because they’re crocheted from wonderfully soft eyelash yarn. The rest of Ingo’s body is also wonderfully soft, as it’s crocheted from velvet yarn. This makes Ingo the ideal playmate and cuddle buddy. At 14 cm, he’s also a practical size to take with you wherever you go.

We are two Finkli (baby shoes) and belong together, which is why we’re called a pair of Finkli or baby shoes. We’re soft and keep little feet nice and warm. The babies who get us don’t want any others and are happy to wear us. We’re quick to knit and super easy to make. All colorful and bright yarn scraps are very welcome here, which is perfect for mixing and matching. But that’s not the end of our story! The excitement continues via the following link:

With these “scrap-eaters,” you can creatively use all kinds of leftovers. They’re very easy to crochet. Even buttons and other materials find a fun use here. They’re great for children’s birthday parties and can be used as pencil holders afterward.

For this window alphabet, I used photo cardstock and transparent paper. Even though both materials are types of paper, they are very different in their texture, how they are worked with, and how they are used.

If you’d like to use both types of paper in one project, you can do so with this model and, at the same time, put together decorative lettering that you can use for many occasions.

The letters are approx. 13.6 to 14.5 cm tall and made from photo cardstock and transparent paper. They are very easy to craft and also well suited for beginners.

The Swea scarf combines 20g of mohair with 100g of Turin yarn.
This is a gorgeous combination.
Two simple patterns are combined.

With a few flowers in the room, it always feels a little cozier. If you like lilies, these delicate paper versions will delight you with their beauty every day, no matter the season.

The lily blooms are made from cardstock; I used crepe paper to wrap the wire stems and for the leaves. The lilies are about 35 cm tall and easy to make.
