For all the kids who can’t run around on the playground right now: The Violetta unicorn hobby horse is also perfect for playing indoors, because the “stick” is a soft, squishy pool noodle that won’t cause any damage or injuries, even during wild play. Violetta is so soft that you’ll even want to cuddle with her in bed at night—and you can do just that with ease.

I crocheted the head using teddy yarn (together with a cotton yarn as an accompanying strand, so you can still see the stitches while crocheting). You’ll find more tips on crocheting with this yarn in the pattern. But of course, you can also crochet the head with any other yarn of a similar thickness.

All you need is a total of 10 g of 100% cotton scraps.

It’s crocheted from top to bottom, and you should be familiar with single crochet, chain stitches, and double crochet.

For this project, I used about 10 different types of yarn totaling 400 grams. For one shawl, I recommend about 800–1,000 meters of yarn.
