Amigurumi/Stuffed Animal - Head

Hi, I hope someone here can help me. Is there any way to retrofit the head of a larger stuffed animal to make it more stable? My rabbit’s ears are too heavy, and now its head is tilting backward.

I’m not sure how big your bunny is. I also crochet a lot of amigurumi and dolls. It’s always tricky to fix this after the fact once the head is already sewn on—unpicking it is a real hassle.

I’ve had the “wobbly head” problem before, too. I just sewed around the head again—that sometimes helps. If your head is falling backward, just sew it down again at the front and pull the thread tighter toward the bottom.
Depending on the stitch pattern, you might be able to insert a toothpick into the neck?

Thanks for the tip—I’ve already tried a few things, but I’ll skip the toothpicks. The bunny is a gift, and my nephew is almost 2, so I’m a little worried about the toothpicks. I’ll add a scarf to the bunny, and that should do the trick. 

Good morning. It’s a little difficult to say without a picture of the bunny. But it might help to cut off the ears and sew them on a little further forward on the head. Pin them in place first to test the fit.

Oh, so the bunny is for a toddler? No, better not use a toothpick—that’s a bad idea.
But the scarf will give it some extra support—that’ll work.
And Pepis idea is also an option.

Were the ears stuffed with stuffing? Maybe you could remove it, then they wouldn’t be so heavy.
