When does the review promotion run?
The promotion starts on MARCH 31, 2020 and runs THROUGH APRIL 15.

How can you win?
Write about your experience making the item in your review. Please note that a pattern can only be reviewed helpfully if it has actually been made.

Who can take part?
Anyone who reviews at least one downloaded and completed pattern from MARCH 31 through APRIL 15 will automatically take part in the promotion.

Remember: With your review, you help the designer and other community users. A few sentences are often enough, for example about:

- your first impression of the pattern
- the accuracy of the content
- how feasible the pattern is
- suggestions for improvement
- etc.

I had no idea I already had so many great patterns :))

I think 1-star reviews like “I haven’t started it yet” or “I ended up knitting something else” should be removed anyway. ;-)

It’s a shame that you can’t tell whether the reviews are from complete beginners or experienced knitters/crocheters. This makes it hard to assess the reviews.

But in my opinion, that’s not really important. After all, we write our patterns for both. And many people mention that in their patterns as well.

I think a pattern should always be designed to be suitable for both beginners and advanced crocheters. I always explain everything in detail. That might be boring for advanced crocheters, but they can just skim over those parts.

I also received a 1-star review with the comment, “Haven’t crocheted it yet.” I then wrote the lady a very nice message, thanking her for purchasing the pattern and for taking the time to leave a review. I explained to her that the rating system serves as a reference for other crocheters and told her about it. I asked her to take another look at the pattern and reconsider her review. She was so kind and did just that, correcting her review.

Many people don’t realize that this counts toward the overall rating, and of course I understand that no one wants to miss out on the giveaway.

 Hi Diana, I always write my patterns for beginners and advanced users. They
are very detailed, with step-by-step photos and crochet charts. I’d
just be interested to know whether some of them are beginners who are having trouble with them,
so that the pattern could perhaps be made even better. I also think it’s a shame
that some customers don’t contact me when something is unclear. I always answer questions
very quickly. I also take the time to talk on the phone.
Unfortunately, I sometimes find it a real shame that customers don’t
take advantage of this service.
But thank you for your tip. I’ll give it a try :)
