Hey Mods,
Of course we’ve thought about it, but it’s still strange until you get used to it again.
To be honest, I don’t need this time change; it can be abolished, in my opinion.
Wishing everyone a good start to the week; the sun is shining here today
I always have to get up just after 5. I always find the change incredibly difficult. As far as I’m concerned, we should just stay on daylight saving time. I hope there will be an agreement on this soon.
Well, luckily most clocks adjust themselves these days… All that’s left is to set the oven and the car. I probably won’t set the car, as usual. It’ll be right again by fall.
I like daylight saving time in the summer and standard time in the winter… But the time change still gets on my nerves ;)
Somehow, someone forgot to tell the weather that it’s daylight saving time… On Saturday we had a lovely spring day… And this morning there was snow outside…
I’m in favor of going back to UTC or CET, as was normal for our latitudes before the change in the ’80s, because daylight saving time in the winter is unbearable—when you’re in a hurry, it doesn’t really get light out until around 10:30, and nobody really needs that. Many of us grew up with what’s now called “winter time,” and back then, nobody minded that it got dark when it was supposed to—not in the middle of the night, as is the case these days.
I HATE the time change! Especially daylight saving time—it goes against my internal clock. I end up losing sleep. In the winter, I sleep from midnight until eight. In the summer, it’s from one o’clock until eight, so when the alarm goes off, I’ve lost an hour of sleep. By the time I’ve gotten used to it, the time changes again...
I’m also in favor of keeping standard time.
I’m already dreading summer. There’s a playground across from us; when it stays light longer, the kids stay there until 10 p.m., which means during summer break I get 12–13 hours of nonstop noise. Now they go inside when it gets dark.
Akela is right—with daylight saving time, in some regions it doesn’t get really light until around noon in winter, which is much worse than the benefit of having light in the evening.
