I wish everyone here a pleasant, wonderful weekend with plenty of time for what brings you joy. 

Of course, I’ll also be ... knitting. Walks in nature are planned too. And today our neighbor invited us over for vegan lasagna.

Nothing at all...… Right now, the sun is shining brightly here, and I hope it stays that way for the next two days. If so, we’ll definitely be going for walks as part of our weekend plans.

The sun is shining today, but it’s chilly outside. On February 29, I have to work, and winter is coming back with lots and lots of sleet and sub-zero temperatures—yuck.

Here in our city, the prevailing mood is one of disappointment and, presumably, concern: All Carnival events have been canceled by the Federal Council due to the coronavirus! A great deal of effort, passion (and money) went into the preparations (costumes, floats for the parades on Sunday and Monday afternoon)… I feel especially sorry for the children, who had so much fun making their costumes at school, and of course for the people of Basel, who now have to do without “the three most beautiful days,” as well as for Schellenursli, who won’t be able to drive away winter. The traditional Engadin Ski Marathon has been canceled, as has the Geneva Watch Fair…

We’re heading to the zoo later.
Just to see how the marabou stork chick is doing.

With this weather, I’ll be sprucing up my patterns and knitting!

Christina, that’s crazy! Is your Carnival weekend a week later than here in Germany? Because Rose Monday is already over here.
