This knitted children’s jacket with a train motif is ideal for the transitional seasons of spring and fall. You can knit it in sizes 80/86 or 92. The appliqués are crocheted and then sewn on, so you don’t have to knit any complicated patterns.   The jacket fastens at the front with a zipper. This is more practical than fiddly buttons, especially for small children.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• 25 g each of Suavel acrylic yarn by Schachenmayr in light gray, apple green, and light blue
• Colorful leftover yarn (e.g., Catania by Schachenmayr) for the crochet appliqués
• 2.5 mm knitting needles
• 2.0 mm crochet hook
• 1 separable zipper (30 cm for size 80/86, 35 cm for size 92/98)

When the first rays of sunshine come out, it immediately makes you want a pretty little dress... How about one of these two cheerful designs? My girls love them :-) They’re knitted from the top down in raglan style, and the appliqués are crocheted. If you have a little experience with top-down raglan, you can easily adjust the dresses to a different size.

Here’s something warm and practical: even the little ones love wearing felt slippers. They keep feet warm, regulate temperature, cushion footsteps, and don’t pinch. These are knitted in one piece—the washing machine takes care of the felting. Please only sew on the decorative button for children who already know it’s not a piece of candy. And since you’ll already have the pattern, you can make some for the whole family right away. They’re wonderful to walk in and totally cozy.
