Monika, those baby booties are super cute! (Or “mega-cute,” as we’d say here in Switzerland...)

Ruth, thanks for the heads-up. The checkmark has been there for a while now, and at first, the signature had shown it too. I just logged out and logged back in—maybe that’ll help. Your doll clothes are absolutely amazing—the doll’s mom is going to be so happy!

I do have a UFO to offer, but I’m not sure if I’ll get around to finishing it... ;-)

Ruth, everything looks so cute. It makes you want to be your grandchild right away, seeing how you spoil them time and time again.

Thanks, Sonja! :)

I’ve almost finished one UFO—my cowl, which is a total leftover yarn project. It’s currently being blocked, and then it just needs some buttons. Oh, and the loose ends still need to be woven in. Here’s what it looks like now:

I just took a look at my mountains of yarn and am going to knit myself another cowl like this. I really like it: in these temperatures, I like to keep my neck and nape warm. I’d really love a sweater with a collar, but I only have a few. So a replacement collar like this is just perfect, this time in cotton.

Juna is getting another pair of little socks from my stash, this time made of soft angora wool. That’s another great way to put leftover yarn to good use.

Monika, that collar is great!
Today I knitted a simple black hat—my mom’s partner asked for it for his birthday. I just washed it, and now it’s drying on “Else’s” head. Tomorrow, when the light is good, I’ll take a photo and show it to you :)

Here it is, the finished hat.
Knitted with Bravo (Schachenmayr), yarn held double. Needle size 8, cast on 54 stitches, double ribbed cuff, then stockinette stitch. Cuff circumference 53 cm (unstretched), height 24 cm. Used 90 g.
So that's a bit less yarn stash again. I did a quick calculation and have already knitted up almost 2 kg of yarn this month.

Good morning
Wow, you’ve all been busy again—some truly wonderful creations have come out of it.

So as not to forget anyone, my praise goes to EVERYONE.

I’ve now finished my pillow, too. Luckily, I had enough yarn.

My UFO is a work in progress.
It won’t be finished this month, though.
It’s supposed to be a blanket:

My shawl collar is finished—it was a UFO. And I’m working on the hat now; that should be finished too.

Mel, you’ve been busy too—you’ve finished another item with the hat.

Monika, the hat went very quickly—it was a one-day project. I’ve had to work the last few days, so I didn’t get anything done (except read a book once in a while). Today I don’t have to be at work until 7:00 p.m., so I might be able to get something else started on my needles.

Oh Mel, reading books—I really enjoy doing that every now and then, too. And I love holding real hardcover books in my hands. It’s just so nice to get away from the computer for a bit and go offline. :)

Today I’ve made good progress on the hat for my husband. Tomorrow it’ll be finished—except for the pom-pom. Here are the photos from this afternoon:

And here’s a photo of the finished shawl collar. It’s very comfortable to wear (made from baby merino), and I like that I can wear it in different ways—as a turtleneck or an open collar. I’m going to knit another one for myself now, this time in beige cotton. That one will go with almost everything.

Oh, and I also knitted a few pairs of little socks for Juna on the side. She just needed them. This time, for the first time in a long while, I knitted a regular heel and realized that I actually still know how to do it—even after all this time. :) They look totally cute:

You’ve all created such amazing things again...
Things just aren’t going well for me right now. I have sooo many ideas, but they just aren’t coming together. I’ve started a lot of projects and have already had to rip some out again... at least that keeps me busy :-)

I wish you all a wonderful weekend

Monika, your collar with buttons is a lovely idea. I always love it when you have multiple ways to wear something—it makes it more versatile.

I’m still working on my new pattern and have started over for the third time. But now it’s looking good.

Then today I sewed a cover for my neck pillow

And I think I’ve started another UFO this week. It’s supposed to be a semicircular shawl. It’s been on hold since Tuesday—which isn’t a good sign for me....

Petra, the start of your shawl looks very promising. Just imagine right now how it’ll feel when you wear it. That’s sure to motivate you to keep going. The neck roll looks very pretty, too.

Claudia, I felt the same way a while back. Just treat yourself to a creative break. You’ve been working really hard so far, so you deserve to take a break. Then things will just fall into place on their own—you’ll see.

I started my second collar scarf yesterday. I really like it, too, because the yarn has a bit of a sheen. I’ll take a photo tomorrow.

This afternoon, I sat in the living room with my husband, just relaxing. It was really nice. He made the pom-pom for his hat (yes, that’s hard work), and I finished knitting the hat and weaving in the ends. Now all that’s left is to sew on the pom-pom, and then he can wear it out on a walk tomorrow. :) He’s really excited about it, and he likes the pattern, too.

I also prepared the soles for Linja’s next pair of shoes this afternoon. I ordered the moccasins from Ina. I just can’t seem to get them to turn out as nicely, and I don’t have the right color of yarn on hand either. I’ve realized that felting just isn’t one of my favorite crafts.

My sweater is still on hold. I’ll get back to it in the next few days and hopefully be able to finally finish it in February.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Hey there, I’m back! Even though I didn’t post here, I’ve been reading almost every day and admiring all your amazing creations.

We’re actually all healthy right now :-) and my husband and I really did go to Rome. I didn’t believe it would work out until the very end.

But it did work out and it was beautiful.

Anton felt right at home with my parents, too… so it was perfect.

And I did a little crocheting in January as well:

A very dear coworker is leaving us, and I wanted to crochet a special guardian angel for her. This is my first attempt, but it doesn’t quite suit her—it’s going in a drawer now to wait for the right moment when it will be just right:

This is my second attempt—I like this one better:

I crocheted a Snoopy for a very good friend who isn’t doing well right now

I also made a quick ski hat for Anton:

Then I crocheted a shopping net

with a built-in pocket:

Carnival is coming up soon, and Anton will probably go as a pirate—his sword is ready:

My goodness, Sandra, you’ve been so busy. You’ve crocheted so many great things—they’re all beautiful. The sword turned out fantastic. The photos from Rome are great, too. You really earned that vacation after everything you’ve been through lately.

I missed you here right away. It’s great to have you back! :)

I’m not really working on anything new myself at the moment. I’m in the same boat as Fun-Design.
I already have ideas, I try them out, and then I rip them out because I don’t like how they turn out.

Petra , I like your shawl—beautiful pattern and lovely colors. After a little thought, it’s sure to turn out really great.

Monika , your new pieces look great, too. Your husband will be happy when he gets to wear that hat today.

Sandra , you’ve been so hard at work despite being sick and on vacation. You’ve crocheted some really lovely little things.
That’s right, Rome is beautiful. I was there briefly a few years ago, too.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday, whatever you have planned.

How are things going with your UFOs?

While doing some spring cleaning in my closet, I found 18 knitted placemats. Bought years ago at a factory outlet for 1 euro each—3 colors, 2 different patterns—they’d been sitting in the farthest corner and had been completely forgotten.

So I spent two evenings sewing away, and they’ve turned into a lovely, large blanket. It measures 122 x 170 cm, and the rectangles are very stretchy.

So I’ve finally finished something, and there isn’t yet another UFO floating around the house.

You only stay away from here for a few days, and so many great things have already been made again! I can’t comment on every single item, because everything turned out really well!

I haven’t been idle either and designed a clown bookmark (I did that on the side because I needed it for a voucher for a trip to the circus). You can admire it here:

I also crocheted a teddy bear pillowcase for a grain pillow. Didn’t it turn out cute? I used as a model a teddy bear pillowcase that I sewed a few years ago. (On the left in the picture is the crocheted one, on the right the sewn one):

Right now, I’m writing the pattern for it.

We’ve had good weather for two weeks now while insulating the roof, but of all days, today brought a storm and rain… Now we just need to lay the tiles, but unfortunately, the weather forecast doesn’t look too good.

Oh dear, Christina, I can only hope for you all that the weather changes soon.

Ruth, you’ve made something really cute again. Those little bears are absolutely adorable—a great pair! And the clown turned out great, too.

Petra, I’m looking forward to seeing the photo of your blanket—it’s not showing up for me… if you’ve already uploaded it.

I’ve also managed to finish another UFO right on time—the hat for my husband. It had been sitting around long enough. Here’s what it looks like now that it’s finished. And my husband really loves it.

And yesterday I finished knitting the second neck warmer. I’ll take a picture of it tomorrow. And today I’m starting another loop scarf with leftover yarn. It’s a great project to work on while watching movies.

Petra, if your shawl turns into a UFO, I’d think it’s a shame—I really like the color and the pattern.
I like your idea of joining the placemats together to make a blanket—the result looks very cozy.

Monika, I always really enjoy those moments together with my sweetheart, too... by the way, the hat looks great.
Glad to hear you’re back “in the flow” — I’m still having a rather bumpy time of it.

Sandra, the pictures from Rome look great—a break like that is always good.
What you managed to make on the side is really pretty—the idea with the sword is brilliant; Anton will definitely have fun with that.

Ruth, your bookmark radiates pure joy. I’m also really craving colors right now… it’s about time the first flowers finally start blooming.

Christina, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you’ll be able to finish up the last few tasks quickly—and that things will finally settle down again.

We had guests over on Sunday, and my sister brought me a gift certificate from my local yarn shop—I think the packaging alone, with the mini skeins in the picture frame, is fantastic.
If a yarn emergency ever does break out here, I can always raid the picture :-)
But for now, it’ll stay here on the shelf for a while.

I think my inspiration and my drive are off on vacation together somewhere; hopefully they won’t stay there too much longer.

That’s such a great idea for wrapping a yarn gift certificate!

Monika, I admire your dedication! You must be knitting nonstop!

Christina, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you that everything with the roof gets “wrapped up” quickly.

Ruth, my crafting bug has just kicked in again. ;-) While our friend was staying with us for a while, I didn’t get much done on my needles. I don’t actually knit that much. Well, it’s still a few hours a day, mostly in the evenings while watching movies. I’m really grateful to my husband for his understanding.

Claudia, you really got a super nice gift. Even the packaging is a highlight! I’d leave that out on display for a while, too. Your creativity will surely come back—it’s okay to let it rest a bit, considering how hard you’ve been working lately.

Petra, I finally got to admire your blanket. That’s a great idea to sew the individual pieces together. It looks very cozy.

Here’s my second collar scarf—this time with gold buttons that I found just in time on my swap platform. They came at just the right moment.

And here’s the start of the cowl for my sweetheart:

It’s not supposed to become a UFO, but should be finished in the next few days.

Monika I think the hat for your husband is great. Very masculine. I always find it harder to find a design in a suitable color for men than for myself.

Claudia your gift is wonderful. I’d hang that up right away, too. Every time you look at it, you’ll feel that anticipation.

I’m sitting on the sofa, snuggled up in my new blanket—it’s really very warm—and knitting a collar. I gave the first one to a friend yesterday; now I’m making it a little smaller, with different yarn and a different color. Let’s see if my grandson likes it.

Thanks, Ruth! :-) Yes, the yarn really has a luxurious feel to it because it’s lustrous yarn. A blend of viscose, cotton, and linen. It feels great. I’m using it to make a loop scarf for my husband.

Petra, thanks to you, too! :-) I’d traded for that wool a while back, and now it’s finally found a use. It’s just right for a men’s hat.

Your scarf looks great. It’s a wonderful example of what you can create with simple patterns. Your grandson is sure to love it.

Some beautiful pieces have been created here again this week.

I didn’t get much done myself, but I’ve been reading along diligently.
Thanks to your great cowls, I’ve really gotten in the mood to knit one myself today.
I found some lovely mottled yarn in my stash. I’m now knitting it into a cowl for my husband—he doesn’t like loop scarves.

This is how far I’ve gotten so far.

Today I finished Anton’s pirate costume

An old T-shirt of mine and a scrap of black fabric—I used a very simple pattern to sew a vest and, of course, added a skull patch.
And of course, there’s a matching headscarf to go with it
If he’ll let me, I’ll show you a photo of him trying it on tomorrow. :-)

Your collars are great! It feels like this winter is taking forever—and with this dreary weather, they’re really perfect!
Sandra, your pirate costume is awesome; I hope Anton lets you take a picture—I’d be sooo happy to see one :)
I started a little side project yesterday (see photo); I’ll tell you exactly what it’s all about once it’s finished ;)

Sandra, you always have great ideas. The costume for Anton looks really cute. I can’t wait to see the photo. I’m sure it’ll look great on him.

Mel, your new creature already looks really cute. I’m sure you’ll let us know how it turns out. I’m excited to see!

I probably won’t be able to finish the loop today after all. It’ll carry over into February. Here’s what it looks like now:

I’m very happy with January, though—I’ve used up 646 g of yarn—not counting the loop.

Yesterday my husband put together a new hallway dresser, and today I happily filled two large drawers with yarn that had been stored in boxes until now. It’s such a great feeling to have so much stash. So I’m not worried that I can keep up my yarn diet for quite a while. Because there’s no room for another cabinet—we’d have to move. ;-)

Sandra, you did a great job on Anton’s costume. I’m curious to see the photo.

Mel, is that going to be a cute little pig? It’s already looking very good.

Monika, your loop scarf looks really nice too.
I won’t finish my collar today either, but that doesn’t matter at all. It’s so warm here at the moment that you can’t wear it anyway.

Oh, Sandra, that’s such an adorable picture of your little pirate! Anton will surely be able to wear that costume for a few years. My grandchildren dress up all year round—so every Carnival costume is worth it. I’ve sewn a few for them myself.

I really like your collar scarves, but I don’t like wearing anything so close to my neck. I don’t like turtlenecks either. A loosely wrapped loop scarf is okay, but a real collar—no, that would be too tight for me.

Sandra, thanks for the cute pirate picture! Time flies—you really see that with the kids.
My last project in January was a request from my mother-in-law. She wanted to give a lottery ticket as a birthday gift, and she thought just putting it in a card was too boring. So I created this lucky pig in a festive mood. Instead of the symbolic gift certificate, it will then be holding the lottery ticket in its hand. This works not only for birthdays but also for Carnival. Since the recipient has a sweet tooth, the jar will also be filled with candy.

Anton looks great—the costume is really beautiful. I’m sure he’ll enjoy wearing it again later, too.

Mel, I really like the little piggy, too. It’s a lovely idea for gift wrapping—it’s a gift in itself.

The collars look great, but I’m more like Ruth on this one—I don’t really like them too tight around the neck either. A light, loose loop scarf is just more comfortable for me.

My creativity is still on vacation; the weather here is probably just too gray and dreary for it...
I crocheted this simple bag from scraps of felting wool; it just needs to be felted now.

Mel, I’m absolutely blown away by your cute little piggy. That’s a brilliant idea that’s sure to bring a lot of joy.

Claudia, as your bag shows, it doesn’t always have to be complicated. The bag looks great even before it’s felted.

I actually finished knitting the cowl last night—so in January. Ta-da—here it is.
It can be worn in different ways, depending on which color combination you want. I also used up two skeins of leftover yarn with this, bringing my total for January to over 700 g.

Thanks, Monika. My husband likes it, too.

This was my first attempt, and I’m very happy with the result.
One problem was the bind off—it didn’t lie flat. So I used an I-cord bind off for the first time. Now the collar lies flat.

The new sewing machine is really good, but it’s reached its limits here...
The hearts are filled with thermal fleece, and the final border ended up being too thick and wouldn’t fit under the presser foot...
So I grabbed my thimble and sewed the oven mitts by hand.

All I can say is: OW!
My fingers definitely need a break now.

I know there’s probably a much better way to do this, but I actually like them just fine.

Claudia, those turned out great! I hope your fingers heal soon.

But I know how that goes: I once wrecked my over 40-year-old sewing machine while sewing a baby blanket with double stitching because I was determined to keep sewing no matter what. That’s when the old electric motor gave out and stopped working...

Claudia, I also think the hearts look great. I know what you mean about pricked fingers. I have a similar experience when sewing the leather soles onto my slippers.

Now I’ll show you how far I’ve gotten with my sweater. The end is in sight—definitely this month.

Hooray! Since yesterday, we’ve been sleeping with the shutters completely closed again, we can see the neighborhood without the bars on the windows, and best of all, we have a beautiful new roof and a better-insulated house! So it’s not quite as cold in the attic anymore, and I can finally start tidying up!

Your little piggy is so, so cute... a really great idea, Mel!

Christina, congratulations on your “new home.” I’m sure it feels just like that.

I recently started looking into Feng Shui again, and since then, the decluttering has begun. A lot of stuff is coming out, and the reward will be better energy and much more space. The yarn diet is a perfect fit for me, of course. Right now, I don’t feel like buying any yarn at all, because it’s actually fun to finally put my stash to good use.

I’m not quite sure yet what I’ll start on after I finish my sweater. Right now, I have a few unfinished pattern projects waiting to be finished. And a crochet project too—the doll sleeping bag. I plan to finish that this month as well.

I wish you all a fantastic day! The sun is shining here, and I’m about to go for a walk with my sweetheart.

Kudos—you’re all so hardworking.

Claudia, your oven mitts turned out beautifully. Those gorgeous colors really make you think of spring.

Christina, it’s wonderful that your home has gotten warmer just in time.

Monika, your new sweater is going to be really chic—you’ve chosen another lovely pattern.

Mel, you’re right. The little pig is a great gift even without the glass.

In the meantime, I’ve knitted another little something.

Marion, your wrist warmers look really nice—something completely different.

As for my sweater, one sleeve is now finished and the second is on the needles. It’s taking quite a while… I’d rather knit smaller things. But I’m also looking forward to wearing the sweater.

Ruth, I was lucky that the layers didn’t fit under the presser foot to begin with—otherwise, I probably would have tried to “force” it too...

Christina, hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy this for a long time to come... I remember how quiet everything seemed to me after the new windows were installed. You’ll definitely notice some pleasant improvements after the renovation, too.

Marion, I like your wrist warmers—especially the bright orange; it really lifts your spirits.

Mel, that pig is really cute—it’s packaging that will bring joy for a long time to come.

Monika, the work on your sweater is definitely worth it!!! Hang in there…
Are you actually following the rules of feng shui? I have a friend who was born in Hong Kong and takes the whole thing really seriously—finding an apartment was quite a challenge for her. She tried to convert me for quite a while… all those little details that were supposed to compensate for the bedroom door facing the bed, for example... I found it extremely exhausting and far removed from real life, even though some of it was quite interesting. Maybe I should flip through that book (the one she gave me...) again sometime.

We had a wonderful, sunny day again yesterday for the first time in a very long time, and thanks to my husband using up his flex time, we were really able to enjoy it together—we went to the zoo again.
We took a few great photos that I’d love to share with you.

We took advantage of the gorgeous weather yesterday to go winter hiking! Of course, lots of other people had the same idea…

Claudia, yes, I’m sticking with it—the second sleeve of the sweater is coming along. And I’m slowly starting to look forward to wearing it.

I find this Feng Shui stuff really interesting, because the energy actually changes when you create space and clear out old stuff. I don’t take it too seriously in every room—that just wouldn’t work for us anyway. But it’s often just little things. When you rearrange or move them around, it immediately feels different.

In any case, it’s time to tidy up—bit by bit.

Marion, your wrist warmers look great!
Claudia, thank you so much for the wonderful animal pictures. I finally finished my pattern yesterday. Now the little pig can “bring joy” to other people, too.
Right now I’m knitting toe-up socks—I don’t know who they’re for yet.

Christina, I think there were quite a few people out and about there...

Monika, it’s true, of course, that decluttering is good for the soul. And it’s also good to break out of old, ingrained patterns and reorganize things. I need that every now and then, too.

There was a nice little market here with local vendors, so I just had to buy something - this yarn cake spoke to me right away. These aren’t usually my colors, but it wanted to come home with me anyway and get onto the needles straight away. I hope the plan works out.

Claudia, I really like your bobble.

I managed to make a loop scarf out of the last bits of this yarn.

Claudia, I wouldn’t have been able to say no to that bobble either 😊
Marion, your loop scarf is great! The colors aren’t really my thing, but I really like the pattern!
I’m currently knitting patterned socks based on an idea from another forum. Let’s see how they turn out.

Wow, Claudia, I really like the colors of your yarn cake. Yeah, it’s truly not easy to resist then. In moments like that, I think of my stash “shop” at home and steer clear of the yarn sections for now—even online.

Marion, your scrap project turned out really great. The pattern is fantastic.

I’m going to get back to knitting my sweater. I’m in the home stretch now… yay. :)

I wish you all a wonderful, woolly day! (It’s still stormy here...)

I managed to finish it just in time. I’m giving it as a birthday present tomorrow.
I think I’ll crochet it again, because I like it so much myself.

Once again, there are so many wonderful creations here to admire.
Claudia, I really like your yarn cake too—those are just my colors.

Of course, I haven’t been idle these past few days either, and I was able to finish quite a few things on my days off (finished a UFO—a makeup bag, used up some yarn stash, learned new stitches—extended double crochet and treble crochet, re-dressed my doll, crocheted a bag from leftover yarn, tried the entrelac technique—cushion cover...)

Here are my creations.

Oh, that’s so cute, Marion. Yeah, it’s easy to fall in love with those. A great gift!

Wow, craft fan, you’ve been busy! Each piece is more beautiful than the last! I’m thrilled—by everything!

My creativity will have to wait a little longer. Right now, I just want to finish my sweater. Basically, all that’s left is the collar—I want to start on it today and have it done by tomorrow.

The next one will be another shawl collar, this time made from sock yarn. And then… I have a few ideas and don’t know yet which one I’ll go with. I’ll just let myself be surprised.

I wish you all a wonderful day!

So many new things have been created.

Bastelfan, your doll’s skirt turned out so cute. And the matching jacket—absolutely adorable!

Claudia, the Bobbel yarn has such great colors. I sometimes feel the same way—they aren’t my usual colors, but I really want to see what it looks like once it’s worked up. And then I eagerly await every single knot.

We were at Legoland last weekend. At the Pirate Hotel. It was a great family weekend. And this week was our grandson’s birthday. He got a tin with a Playmobil pirate theme as a gift.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad about that.

Wollwunder Petra, I think every child would love to be in Legoland with their favorite characters, and as a child you're right in the middle of it yourself. That must be wonderful.
We always wanted to go there with our children too, but now they're grown up.

Hang in there until Friday—then it's the weekend :-)

I’m still working my way through some long-stashed yarn.

I’m still crocheting nests and have now even crocheted around a tin can. But it takes forever to use up just 200 grams.

But the journey is the destination

And with the sun shining so beautifully today, I ended up spending an hour tidying up the garden.

Oh, I still remember Legoland, too. Back then, my son was still little. Now there’s a new one—it’s surely very interesting and a real treat for kids.

Marlene, have fun with your socks. They’re looking good already.

Petra, you’ve decorated your flower so nicely. We spent a lot of time outside today, too. Lots of crocuses are already blooming in our garden, and some of the daffodils are already poking up as much as 20 cm. The day before yesterday, we spotted our first starling. It’s already checking out the situation. ;-)

I’m still working on my sweater; I’d like to finish it by tomorrow at the latest. Then I can show it to you all.

At the same time, I’m knitting a cowl out of sock yarn. My friend asked me to make it for her. Her birthday is in April, and that’s when she’ll get it.

Thanks, Moni :)
Since the heel worked out well on another pair of socks, I’m making these the same way.
That used to always be a problem for me.

“Well-aged yarn”—I like that expression and your crocheted tin can, Petra.

You’re all so hard at work!!! There are so many projects that it’s impossible to comment on every single one. It’s really great to see so much creativity buzzing around here :-)

My official project right now is some incredibly boring placemats in dark gray, knitted in stockinette stitch—two out of eight are finished so far. Yawn... But we have new patterned tableware, so only something plain will go with it.

This morning, however, I finished my much more fun secret project: the birthday hat for my husband. Just looking at it is making me want to travel again :-)

Sonja, your hat looks great. What a fantastic idea.

Now I can finally show you my sweater. It’s almost finished. I’m just not sure if the collar needs a few more rows. That’s where I’m stuck right now. Once that’s sorted, I just need to weave in the ends and I can put it on. Yay! :)

By the way, spring has arrived here. Lots of starlings are visiting our feeding station now, and we had lunch on the balcony for the first time. So nice!

I’ve finished one sock.
Now I’m continuing with my airy summer sweater.

Wow, so many beautiful things have been made here again 😊
Marlene, your sock is so beautifully colorful, just right for this dreary weather.
Sonja, I think your hat is great!
Monika, you see, even a long-term project like your sweater eventually comes to an end, and the result really is something to be proud of!
I’ve just knitted two “extensions” for my coat pockets. At first they were going to be flaps, but since I always put my hands in my pockets, that would be impractical, so I just knitted a wide band and I’ll sew it on tomorrow once it’s dry. Then my phone won’t be in danger of falling out anymore. Now I’m going to continue knitting my second sock. When they’re finished, I’ll show them to you.

I also added a mini octopus for premature babies today

Monika your sweater turned out great. I especially like the front with the buttons in a contrasting color. And I also love that the collar is two-toned. A really special idea.

I haven’t made any tops for myself in a very long time. I’m always worried that they won’t fit right in the end. It’s easier with kids—they’ll eventually grow into them.

Nadeleule that jacket with the bag is very pretty. The sleeves and bag are knitted sideways. Awesome.

Marlene your socks have beautiful colors. Just the thing for the coming spring.

Sonja your kiwi hat—what a great gift. Your husband must have been very pleased.

Oh Mel, how cute is that! You’ve done a great job with the octopus again. It’s such a unique idea. And the coat pocket with the cable pattern turned out beautifully too.

Yeah, Petra, I really like the button placket in the front and the two-tone collar, too. Tonight I finally wove in all the many ends, so I can finally wear it tomorrow. I’m really looking forward to it. That’s exactly what I need. I’ll post a new photo then, too.

I’ve finished my second little octopus. Once again, I don’t have any UFOs...
Today I knitted another preemie hat. It’s crazy how tiny it is!

Kjellrun wrist warmers (fil-art-aue) and “Cold December” headband (WollwunderPetra)

My unscheduled February project: A year ago, I knitted a pair of wrist warmers using the pattern above from moth-damaged wool and had to weave in countless ends… When I wanted to start using the wrist warmers again: nowhere to be found! I emptied drawers, rummaged through baskets, turned jacket pockets inside out—not a trace. So I rummaged through my yarn stash and started knitting. The first wrist warmer was finished when, just before falling asleep, a new idea struck me: I hadn’t thought about my red winter jacket yet—and lo and behold… Of course, I kept knitting anyway and then realized a headband would actually go quite well with it! A positive side effect: two fewer skeins of yarn in my stash!

Oh Mel, your little octopus is super cute! :) Yes, I imagine a preemie as being tiny, too. Your hat will probably look like it’s for a doll.

My doll clothes have also been used for preemies before, which of course makes me very happy.

I’ve now finished another collar scarf made from sock yarn—except for the buttons. I’ll be giving it as a gift in April. Which buttons do you like better? The 1st or 2nd version? I just can’t decide which looks better.

And then yesterday I started knitting a colorful little skirt for Linja. It’s really lovely to be working on such small pieces again. They’re finished pretty quickly.

I’ve finally finished my UFO sweater now, and it wears really nicely.
So I’m doing well in UFO Week.

Christina, so do you have 3 wrist warmers now???

Monika, you’re really diligent! You just finished the sweater, and now you’re already making a collar and a little skirt.
(Personally, I like the second button option better—the yellow stands out too much for me.)

Mel, your little octopus is so cute.

Christina, I really like your set, too.

Monika, I also prefer the second version of the collar.
Your collar turned out really nice with the sock yarn.

I’m continuing to work on my Easter decorations.

Thank you all for your expert eye regarding the shawl collar.

Yes, I think my friend will prefer the second version, too. Those are gold buttons—you can’t really see them very well here.

The little skirt is turning out totally cute and very colorful. It’s already coming along… and I’ll probably knit a second one in a different base color. Maybe I’ll make it a bit bigger this time. That’ll help me use up my colorful yarn stash.

After that, it’ll be time to knit a summer cardigan for Juna. Oh, I love knitting such tiny things again. That’s what I enjoy most.

Maybe Linja’s doll will get the same skirt in a smaller size. Her doll is about the same size as mine.

As you can see, it never gets boring. :)
