For a pillow, 290g of yarn
For baby clothes, 261g of yarn

My material usage in January:

• Nests for Australia – 288 g
• 2 pairs of socks for my granddaughter – 57 g total
• Baby booties for my granddaughter – 45 g
• Hat for my husband – 146 g
• 2 cowls – 110 g
• Loop - 89 g

Total for January - 735 g

My Yarn Usage in 2020

January: 150g Lala Berlin Furry (75m-50g) for a hat and a scarf

550g Cashseta in mint for a sweater

550g assorted acrylic yarn for bird/animal nests

90g acrylic yarn (Bravo black) for a men’s hat

65g cotton yarn for the Gutsch(w)ein

so far 60g sock yarn for thick socks

Total: 1,465g

February: 20g sock yarn (leftover from January)

Nadeleule: That’s an impressive amount! I always get a little frustrated when I’ve been diligently crocheting and knitting, but my stash still doesn’t seem to be getting any smaller!
My January projects used up (some are also UFOs, i.e. started earlier):

- 4 pairs of wrist warmers made from Kid Seta or similar   78g
- 3 ice flowers and 14 snowflakes (Creative Bubble)   93g
- 2 cotton shopping bags, 150m/50g      130g
- table runner made from Peruvian cotton         104g
- granny heart and snowman (cotton, 125m/50g)       28g
         total     433g
Plus quite a few grams of yarn cakes for the shawls in progress.

Total for January - 551 g of yarn

Usage in February: 853 g

• 3 collars
• 1 little devil (gift)
  
• Loop and wrist warmers
• Rabbit with ring
• Baby shoes and hats

Total used this year - 1404 g

Materials used in February:

1 doily and first part of the table runner  27g

Help: Can someone tell me how to get this to display properly? When I submit it, it looks completely different! How do you guys do it? I’d really appreciate your tips!

Usage in January was 1,076 grams

In February I made
- 7 nests for wild animals
- 1 drey for wild animals
- 3 children's hats for a pattern
- crocheted around 5 tin cans
- 1 storage basket for a friend

In total 1,558 grams for 17 projects.

Altogether in 2020, that now makes 2,634 grams.

My consumption in January—for a total of 11 projects—735 g

My consumption in February 2020 (mostly lightweight and thin yarn):

• 150 g – Finished knitting a sweater (I’d already knitted just under 300 g before that)
• 86 g – Cowl
• 87 g – Skirt for my granddaughter
• 40 g – Doll skirt
• 42 g – Shawl collar

Total for February: 405 g

Total for this year: 1,140 g

I just realized that I didn’t include the headband and wrist warmers in February—that’s another 103 g of alpaca. So that brings my total for February to 524 g, and January and February combined to 957 g.

Used in March:      564 g 


Total used this year  -  1968 g

Consumption in January was 1,076 grams

Consumption in February, with 17 projects, was 1,558 grams

In March I made

2 nests for wildlife
2 shawls
1 baby blanket
1 soap pouch 

So in March, with 6 projects, I crocheted 1,354 grams

Altogether in 2020 so far, this is 3,988 grams

By the way, I think it’s great to write this down here. I wouldn’t have thought I’d get through so much yarn in 3 months.

I’m really surprised - April was probably my strongest month so far. And that’s how my “diet yarn” is being used up. :)

Well, reducing my stash didn’t go so well in May. I knitted and crocheted less compared to the previous months.

In May, I finished 2 nests for wild animals, a felted drey, and a baby jacket = 903 grams

So far in 2020, that makes a total of 6,150 grams

I’m amazed once again at how much yarn I’ve used up so far this year. Where was it all stored?! ;-)
This month, I was able to use up a lot of leftover yarn by making the nests.
