The start was pretty good, since I can now knit socks too. In January I finished two pairs.

January is practically over, so here’s my list:
Yarn usage 2019:
January:
133 g sock yarn (4-ply) = 2 pairs of socks

So far: 1,050 g (~100 m) virgin wool for my Sylvi coat

87 g high-bulk acrylic for crocheted cabin slippers

46 g merino (100 g/100 m), knitted into a twist headband

7 g sock yarn for a baby sock
(test knit)

50 g sock yarn for a pair of women’s socks with a Mowi heel

Total: 1,373 g

January is basically over, so here’s my list:
Yarn usage 2019:
January:
133g sock yarn (4-ply) = 2 pairs of socks

So far: 1,050g ( ~ 100m) pure new sheep’s wool for my Sylvi coat

87g high-bulk acrylic for crocheted hut slippers

46g merino (100g-100m) knitted twist headband

7g sock yarn for one baby sock
( test knitting)

50g sock yarn for a pair of women’s socks with a Mowi heel 

Total: 1,373g

February:
218g pure new wool for the rest of the coat ( after unraveling the front pieces and knitting them again)
92g cotton yarn for 4 mini hippos
60g acrylic yarn (Bravo) for a door wreath
Total: 370g

In total, I used 638 grams of yarn in 15 finished projects in January and February.

They were all just little things like baby hats, window decorations, stuffed animals, and a lantern. None of the pieces used more than 100 grams.

This helped me reduce my yarn scraps a bit, which is great.

In total, I used 638 grams of yarn in 15 finished projects in January and February.

In March, I knitted 273 grams of sock yarn, but unfortunately bought 1,400 grams of yarn.

In April, I used 375 grams for a blanket.

So by the end of April, I had used 1,286 grams

In January, I used a total of 990 gr. of yarn for 11 items,
In February, I used a total of 247 gr. of yarn for 19 items,
In March, I used a total of 912 gr. of yarn for 49 items,
In April, I used a total of 421gr of yarn for 11 items.

Total so far: 2570gr.

200g gradient yarn (800m 4-ply) for a shawl

In total, I used 638 grams of yarn in 15 finished projects in January and February.

In March, I knitted 273 grams of sock yarn, but unfortunately bought 1,400 grams of yarn.

  In April, I used 375 grams for a blanket. In May, I knitted 4 dishcloths = 152 grams, 1 small basket = 29 grams, and a scarf = 183 grams.
Total for May = 364 grams used and I didn't buy a single gram of wool

This brings my total to 1,550 grams used by the end of May.

From January through April, I used 2570 g of yarn.

In May, I used 623 g for these items:

  40 g of cotton for baby booties
100 g of cotton for the husky potholder
103 g of cotton for the dog potholder
130 g of cotton for Grandma (gift)
250 g of cotton for my top (UFO)

Total usage: 3193 g <\/strong>

From January to April, I used 2,570 g of yarn.

In May, it was 623 g for these items:

  40 g of cotton for baby booties
100 g of cotton for the husky potholder
103 g of cotton for the dog potholder
130 g of cotton for Grandma (gift)
250 g of cotton for my top (UFO)

June:
183 g of cotton for 2 pairs of potholders, Tunisian crochet
333 g of cotton for 9 pairs of baby booties
Total 516 g

Total used - 3,709 g

Oh dear, I had a look. It looks absolutely dreadful for me in July. I could become the UFO world champion.

January and February: 638 grams of yarn used in 15 finished projects.

In March, I knitted 273 grams of sock yarn.

In April, I used 375 grams for a blanket.

In May, I knitted 4 dishcloths = 152 grams, 1 small basket = 29 grams, and a scarf = 183 grams.
Total for May = 364 grams used.

In June, I finished a shawl using 238 grams

In July I finished a shawl using 150 grams

So by the end of July, I had used 1,938 grams for 25 finished projects

I started a baby blanket and knitted 150 grams, a poncho and knitted 230 grams, a cowl and knitted 180 grams, a phone case for a birthday, about 40 grams, and I’m currently knitting a large shawl, for which I’ve used another 50 grams. But none of them are finished yet.

My usage through July - 3709 g

In August, I added  - 1125 g
220 g  for a bag
 40 g   for baby shoes
865 g  for a cardigan

Total usage: 5498 g

I'm still working on lots of different projects and currently have started:

Still a baby blanket, 1 cowl, a poncho, a shawl, a cover for a tablet. 

My usage through July: 1,938 grams

I finished in August:


3 granny squares, approx. 60 grams (for my granny blanket)
1 phone case as a gift, approx. 40 grams
1 scarf with 200 grams

So by the end of August I’m at 2,238 grams of yarn used for 28 finished projects, and I haven’t bought any new yarn.

How was September?

I finished something in October, so my stash has shrunk a little too.


My usage up to the end of August was 2,238 grams

I finished in September:


2 granny squares approx. 40 grams (for my granny blanket)

1 cover for a game console = 50 grams



1 knitted scarf weighing 166 grams
1 large shawl was finished, which I had been stitching on for months = 250 grams
and my baby blanket for little Emilio = 290 grams


So by the end of September I’m at 2,948 grams of yarn used for 34 finished projects, and I didn’t buy any new yarn in September.

I have socks, a scarf, 2 cowl scarves, 2 ponchos, my granny blanket started and lying around, and a thousand new ideas are buzzing around in my head

My usage through August  - 5498g 

In September, add  - 642g
233g  for a bag
  63g  for the UFO bag
170g  for baby shoes
 52g  for baby hats
  37g  for doll leggings
  87g  for test knitting


Total usage:  6140g   for 105 pieces

Used through the end of September: 6,140 g.

In October, I finished 5 pairs of baby booties, 12 children’s hats, and 4 gnomes, using 975 g of yarn.

Used through the end of October: 7,115 g

By the end of September, I had used 2,948 grams of yarn for 34 finished projects and didn’t buy any new yarn in September. 

In October, I knitted a baby hat using 26 grams and a scarf using 156 grams. That’s a total of 182 grams.

This brings my total to 3,130 grams.

I still have socks, 2 cowls, 2 ponchos, my granny blanket, a baby jacket, a baby slipover, and an infinity scarf on the go.

In November, my stash shrank even more. 

By the end of October, I had used 3,130 grams of yarn for 36 finished projects.

I didn’t buy any new yarn in November. 

In November I crocheted covers around 2 bottles



There was a new hat, 3 headbands for a new pattern, spiral socks were finished, I finished a cape (UFO), 3 hats for a new pattern were knitted

My grandchild’s stuffed animals got Christmas hats



Altogether I used 489 grams for 15 projects.

So my usage has risen to  3,619  grams for 51 projects.

I still have a pair of socks, 2 neck warmers, 1 poncho, my granny blanket, a baby jacket, and a cowl started and lying around.

Currently on the needle: a hat for a new pattern

Added in November:
8 children’s hats and 4 pairs of baby shoes
6 elves
I used 1,192 g for them

I’ll count my unfinished moose in December.

Here is the year-end wrap-up now

My usage through the end of November  8307 g

In December, I added:
7 children's hats and 2 pairs of baby shoes, 1x mittens, 2 little guardian angels for the grandchildren,
2 angels - given away, and  Roland the Christmas Moose

I used  911g of yarn for them

My pillow that I started will only be added in January.
Usage through the end of December:   9218 g  - approx. 160 items
