I’m looking forward to the weekend. I want to create and try out some new recipes, because two friends are coming over for brunch on Sunday. I certainly won’t be bored.
I’ll be spending most of my time on the couch. This bronchitis is really getting to me—I don’t even feel like crocheting.
Luckily, my husband will be home this weekend and can take care of Anton. So maybe I’ll actually be able to rest. On Sunday, the three of us (me included) plan to go to the church that Anton’s daycare is part of. There’s a family service there with the theme: “Does God wear rubber boots?” It’s geared toward the little ones, too. I’m really curious to see what it’s like.
Yesterday our daughter had her birthday party (you can’t really call it a “kids’ birthday party” when you’re 14 anymore)
First we had cake, then we went to a big trampoline park. We got back home at 9:30 p.m. and had fries and nuggets for dinner. One girl was picked up at 11:00 p.m., and the rest went upstairs and stayed the night here. We’ll have breakfast in a little while, and the girls will be picked up around 11 a.m. We still have to go shopping, and I still have to bake a cake because the family is coming over for coffee on Sunday. That leaves no time for knitting :(
I wish everyone a wonderful weekend. Yesterday we picked up my mother from the hospital. Despite her many health issues (stroke, pulmonary embolism, etc.), there have been no lasting effects, and she’s almost back to her old self. I’m so happy about that, and I appreciate her even more now than before. So I’m taking it easy this weekend—doing plenty of needlework, a little housework, the usual stuff—and on Sunday I’ll visit my parents to help Mom out a bit.
Monday afternoon will be all the more special, though, because we’re having a farewell party at the craft store—the owner is retiring, and our little group—at the craft store—is coming to an end. But luckily, the craft group will continue; we’ll just be knitting and crocheting at the café next door.
I’m going to finish my scarf today.
After about 150 cm or so, I want to finally get it done.
I’ll make a hat out of the leftover yarn.
Then I’ll do some more decluttering—move stuff I don’t need in the apartment down to the basement and fetch some yarn from the basement that I want to use to make a small rug for the bathroom.
