The adorable star gnomes are very easy and make a sweet little gift to bring along, especially during Advent. They decorate gift packages, can hang on the Christmas tree or Advent wreath, or even serve as a pincushion. If you crochet several, you can also use them as a garland. You’re sure to have a few colorful leftover yarn scraps at home, so you can get started right away.

If you wrap your St. Nicholas Day gifts in these pretty little bags, you’re sure to get lots of compliments. They’re also highly recommended for oddly shaped Christmas gifts. Plus, they can be reused year after year, so they help reduce packaging waste.

You can crochet the bags in any size you like. The pattern emerges naturally when you use colorful Christmas yarn with a self-striping effect. The appliqués are crocheted from leftover yarn.

These fruit coasters are really super easy to make—all you have to do is crochet circular discs. Their appeal comes mainly from choosing the right colors. The coasters have a small hole in the center that fits a standard straw. This means they can also be used outdoors as glass lids to keep wasps from flying into the glass.

Even beginner knitters can impress with a visually sophisticated knitting technique here. The combination of lace and cable patterns makes the “Meeresgrund” scarf an absolute showstopper.
You don’t need to know how to read knitting charts—I’ve written it out in a table format that’s easy for everyone to understand. This way, you can clearly see not only the individual rows but also the different pattern sections. A photo tutorial explains the individual cable twists in great detail—you’ll see, it’s really not hard :)

My suggestions for knitting or crochet beginners would be:

The Featherlight Loop
Very airy and light, and super delicate and soft, because it is knitted from cashmere yarn. A knitting beginner can manage it well with diligence and perseverance. We only knit knit stitches, so it’s not hard. Everyone will envy you for this loop.

Lace Scarf for Beginners

This is also an ideal beginner project. If you’ve always wanted to knit an airy, lightweight lace scarf, now would be a wonderful opportunity. The pattern is very simple because 2 pattern rows alternate continuously. The color play comes straight from the skein. But here, too, we need diligence and patience until the beautiful piece is finished. It is guaranteed to draw admiring glances.

Maybe something for the crochet fans too? How about a poncho for little dolls? You can crochet this one in different variations—and each one will become a beloved piece of doll clothing. The doll moms will love you for it :-)

This pretty St. Martin’s lantern may look complicated, but it really isn’t: Thanks to the precise template and detailed instructions, it’s also wonderfully suitable for beginners to make themselves.

The lantern is made of cardstock and tracing paper, measures approximately 21 x 22 cm, is sturdy, and easy to carry.

This cute doll jacket, which also fits tiny babies, together with the matching hat, is guaranteed to get lots of compliments. It can be knitted very easily as a top-down raglan. All measurements are given, as well as the individual rows.

With thicker yarn, the jacket will also comfortably fit regular babies.

What could be nicer than compliments from your own children or grandchildren? They’ll be especially delighted with a sleeping bag for their little doll or stuffed animal. That will make them much more willing to go to bed.

The sleeping bag fits small dolls and teddy bears measuring approx. 20–25 cm. It can also be very easily lengthened.

Two different versions are presented.

A cute sweater like this with a side button placket could belong to a baby. The doll mom is sure to be delighted when she can dress her little darling just as prettily. Suitable for dolls and teddy bears approximately 45–50 cm tall.

Knitted from the top down with raglan sleeves—everything is explained in detail and is easy to follow.

These two knitted models are suitable for beginners, as they are knitted using only knit and purl stitches.

LiMaZo Scarf - cable look without a cable needle

Knitted only with knit and purl stitches. The pattern is described in writing in the pattern, and you will also find a knitting chart. I used 200 grams for this model. Yarns with a yardage of 120 - 160 m / 50 grams are suitable.

Scarf "Nights in Toronto"

A great pattern, again knitted only with knit and purl stitches. The point at the beginning and end is explained in detail in the pattern, and the model is easy to make.

Here, too, yarns with a yardage of 120 - 160 m are suitable.

This granny square is suitable for beginners with a little practice. It’s crocheted using only double crochet stitches, and the pattern is created by adding chain stitches.

I used a cotton yarn with a meterage of 125 m and a size 3 hook. My granny square measures about 15 cm.

Crochet Pattern: Granny Number 7

The Christmas holidays may seem far away, but time passes much too quickly as always, and suddenly a thousand things have to be done at once. To keep all the preparations from getting too stressful, you could start making Christmas cards now.

This card has the usual folded-card size of 10.5 x 21 cm. The glitter liner needs several hours to dry—be sure to take that into account when planning. Otherwise, the card is very easy to make and also suitable for beginners.

The Tamburin Shawl is knitted using just two simple patterns, both of which are explained in detail and illustrated with charts.
It’s also a great way to use up leftover yarn. The center section is knitted with 20g skeins.
You’ll need 100g of sock-weight yarn and 6 x 20g skeins in different colors, but you can easily increase or decrease these amounts.

This colorful crocheted protective case for your e-reader or small tablet is sure to turn heads! Not only does the case brighten your day, but it also protects your device from scratches and dents. Each step is explained in detail in the pattern, both in writing and with pictures, so even beginners with just a little crocheting experience can tackle this project.

Here is the crochet pattern.

These folding gift boxes are perfect for beginners and can be adapted for any occasion: Made from cardstock in a suitable color and decorated accordingly, these very easy-to-make boxes make excellent packaging for your small gifts.

The 10 boxes come in different shapes and have edge lengths ranging from 30 to 80 cm. They’re very easy to make and require gluing in just one spot. Because they fold flat, you can make them in advance and store them in a very space-saving way.
