Waiting for Christmas—a wonderful time full of secrets and surprises. With a
lovingly handmade Advent calendar the waiting is so much more fun than with a store-bought, run-of-the-mill calendar.
The handmade one is fun even while you’re crocheting it. You choose the colors and the size of the pockets (depending on the yarn you choose), and you can decorate, fill, and arrange everything beautifully however you like. With a store-bought one, you have to take what you get—even if it’s the same chocolate 24 times :-(
My Advent calendar consists of
24 colorful pockets, which you can either arrange on a festively decorated tray or tie to a portable clothes hanger. For all the items I used, I include the source in the pattern. The printable template (red stars) for the numbers 1 to 24 is included.
After Christmas, you can continue using the little pockets to store treasures of all kinds. The pockets can also be used again on an Easter table setting.
I hope you enjoy the Advent calendar, and when the time comes, have a lovely Christmas season.
Yours, Ina
