Right from the morning of St. Nicholas Day, we get in the mood for the special visitor in the evening:

The  Christmas egg cozies  put us in a joyful mood right at the breakfast table. If you still have leftover yarn in Christmas colors and some gold glitter yarn left over, you can crochet this beautiful table decoration from them.

Little gift bags   are, of course, essential for St. Nicholas Day: These are quick to crochet and can be personalized with different appliqués. If you use sock yarn in Christmas colors, a pattern appears all by itself. The “fur” trim is crocheted with fluffy yarn.

And what goes into the little bags? If you don’t want to give only sweets and nuts, these

Christmas finger puppets  are a great idea. You can crochet them very quickly from just a few bits of leftover yarn, and they help shorten the children’s long wait for Christmas.

Of course, decorations are a must, too.

This wonderful reversible doll “Little St. Nicholas–Easter Bunny”   is not only original, but also practical, because you can use it again as a decoration at Easter. By simply turning it inside out, St. Nicholas becomes a sweet little Easter bunny girl.

The little moose in the door wreath  calmly watches all the lively goings-on, because by now he can take a little break from pulling the sleigh. The wreath has a diameter of only 12 cm and fits even into the smallest corner. This wreath is also a great idea as a Secret Santa gift!

Or would you prefer the moose as a

keychain? He also looks great as a Christmas tree ornament. And all you need is a few bits of leftover yarn!

I hope you have lots of fun getting ready for a wonderful St. Nicholas Day!

The days are getting cooler again, and the Christmas season is just around the corner. Until then, you can pass the time with our little fir trees. They are quick to make and look incredibly good too.

Here is the pattern

What would December 6th be without a St. Nicholas stocking filled with sweets? Kids are supposed to polish their boots so that St. Nicholas will put something inside for the well-behaved ones. Sure, that works. But a homemade St. Nicholas stocking is so much more decorative. Once it’s been emptied of treats, it can still serve as a beautiful Christmas decoration.

And who says Christmas always has to be red, green, and white? No, you can also crochet the St. Nicholas boot in your other favorite colors.

I hope you enjoy the pattern, and when the time comes, I wish you a wonderful pre-Christmas season.

Warm regards—Ina

St. Nicholas Day is always a chance to sweeten the wait until Christmas with a little surprise. This could be candy or even a small gift. And when it’s all wrapped up in such a pretty bag, everyone’s happy.

The bag can also be used later as a little pouch for all sorts of things. If you crochet the bag in different colors, it’s not just perfect for the Christmas season, but can also serve as pretty gift wrapping for other occasions
as well. The bottom is sturdy, so you can use it to neatly store or carry all sorts of things. The size is perfect for kids (20 x 9 x 19 cm; measured with the handle).

I hope you enjoy the pattern. Yours, Ina

It doesn’t always have to be a boot!

These two funny little fellows can hold quite a lot, and with the specified materials the little bags will be about 31 cm tall and 11 cm wide. Of course, you can also crochet them smaller with thinner yarn and use them, for example, as an Advent calendar ♥

This St. Nicholas boot isn’t just decorative—it also makes wonderful, traditional gift wrapping!

This boot can hold quite a lot, since it measures about 28 x 39 cm! The boot is sewn from thin felt and decorated with felt scraps. It’s very easy to recreate for beginners with basic sewing skills.
