Dear users, dear designers,
it’s time for the awards ceremony for the month of July.
This is going to be wonderful.

You can read up on the July projects here:
July projects: win motivating titles + spend a good time with nice people

Taking part in the July final stretch / the July awards ceremony: How does it work?
If you’d like to take part, please copy the section here in this post between the asterisks into your own text field / into a reply post here in the thread and fill it out accordingly or check what applies. Of course, you can leave out anything that doesn’t apply.

When does it start?
The July awards ceremony will take place around August 2. But I can still add you later, too.

Who can join in the awards ceremony?
Any user and any designer with an account at Crazypatterns can join in. Anyone who writes a post in the final-stretch thread is in.

Every (small ) step counts.
No one writing along here, no user and no designer either, will go home without an honorary title or without extra karma points / bonus points. If someone had a very stressful daily life / many challenges in everyday life in July, that can also be honored with a fitting honorary title or extra karma points / bonus points if desired. If necessary, I’ll invent an honorary title to match the individually mastered challenges.

Earn extra points / bonus points and improve your karma:
- Of course there are always extra points for photos (only ones you uploaded yourself ). Please do not upload other people’s images (e.g. from the internet ). I have to remove those.
- Handmade items that are given to dear people as gifts also bring extra karma points / bonus points, to honor the time / effort / energy spent on them.
--> Please provide the details for each here in the thread.
- Feedback for our designers ( e.g. reviews, comments, etc. ) is also always rewarded with extra points.

Heat Queen/King in July

Best of the Leftovers in July
[x ] In July I used up a lot of my leftover yarn
--> However, anyone who bought more yarn to finish the respective
leftover-yarn projects may have to come up with something to
convince me. Good arguments are, of course, always an
advantage. :- )
Details about the leftover-yarn projects in July:
The Barbie doll dresses and the octopus were made from leftover yarn

Yarn Diet / Yarn Empress/Emperor / Inner-Pig-Dog Conqueror in July
[x ] I did not buy any yarn in July and have therefore earned the title Yarn Empress in July.

not so much; the heat did make me quite sluggish.

Pattern Optimization Champion + Hero of the Authors = author title in July
[x ] In July I uploaded at least one new pattern here on Crazypatterns.
3 new patterns were created:

Octopus Oskar(from a leftover yarn cake)

Sunflower Dish Sponge

4 Doll Dresses

By the way, the dish sponge was given as a gift

[x ] In July I worked on the current seasonal topics (summer, vacation,
fall, back to school, etc.) and uploaded a pattern
or even several for them, or will still do so.
Write details here.
All 3 patterns have to do with summer.

evergreen topics such as using up leftover yarn, TV-friendly
patterns, beginner-friendly models, animals / amigurumi, decorations, unicorns,
owls, mermaids, etc.
Write details here.
All 3 patterns can be made with leftover yarn.

[x ] In July I revised and improved my existing images / texts / my shop.
Write details here. Link and image allowed.

A customer pointed out an inaccuracy in an old pattern. I improved the pattern and adjusted the product text to the new format right away. It is the pattern
Lion and Lioness
I also took new photos for a pattern and changed the cover image. This is the pattern
 Beach Set for Barbie Dolls

Frogging Monster Conqueror in July
[x ] In July I partially
or completely frogged an unfinished craft project or UFO and then still
completed it / made something wonderful from it. I am therefore a
Frogging Monster Conqueror.
Details:
While embroidering the tablecloth, I had stitched a fairly large area in the wrong color. (The different blues were quite similar after all.) I undid everything, very carefully, to lose as little thread as possible, because it was a complete embroidery kit and I did not know whether the thread would otherwise be enough.)

Summer / garden season
[ -] Did anyone have cool evenings? On cool days / evenings, I wrapped myself in a cozy blanket for crafting, or also
in a great shawl (maybe even handmade ), or kept
warm some other way and had lots of fun doing it.
NO SUCH LUCK!

Details:
[x ] I used the sunny + hot days and had fun in the garden / in the park / on the balcony, etc.
Details:
Early in the morning and in the evening.

I already have my most important title, because in July I reached a long-awaited milestone: I sold my 10,000th pattern and am now an Elite Author. Reaching this goal made me very proud.  However, right after that I got a little reality check, because sales then continued rather slowly (probably because of the hot weather).
P. S. Are there any more titles beyond 10,000?

Lazy or busy in the heat: the July titles

[ x ] I didn’t let the heat throw me off, so I am a Perseverance Queen/King.

Somehow we had to get through the days....

Heat Queen/King in July

[ x ] I bravely got through the July heat.
Details:

Cool drinks helped :)

Long outdoor evenings, like here at Extraschicht, were something we really enjoyed...

Best of the Leftovers in July

[ x ] In July I used up a lot of my leftover yarn / emptied my leftovers basket, and I have truly earned the title Best of the Leftovers.
Details about the leftover-yarn projects in July:

I crocheted a mini keychain for a Star Wars fan - (Millennium Falcon) - but I didn’t need much leftover yarn for it.

I crocheted a new shopping net with a pouch from leftover yarn, nicely classic for the environmentally conscious man - a birthday gift that we gave filled with treats and that was very well received.

This bag was also packaging for a birthday gift, and I used up some of my leftover yarn for it.

Shopping Queen / King in July:

[ x ] I only bought urgently needed yarn in July.
Details:

For the lanterns and the sofa blanket I had to buy new yarn, because my stash was no longer sufficient.

Busy Little Helper in July

[ x ] I was able to get a lot of crafts done / finished in July.
Details about that:

Besides the things already shown elsewhere, I started a new sofa blanket in waffle stitch, which I’ll keep crocheting on now and then in between... it is growing slowly but steadily.

[ x ] I was also very busy in everyday life in July.
Write the details here, if you’d like to share them:

We rearranged things and at the same time removed decades of dust from my old stereo system - I’m hoping for many more years together...

Pattern Optimization Champion + Hero of the Designers = Designer Title in July

[ x ] I uploaded at least one new pattern here on Crazypatterns in July.
Write the details here. Link and image allowed.

I posted one new pattern - the toilet paper roll cover “Cheeseburger with Fries”

Here is the link to the crochet pattern:
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/52603/klorollenhut-cheeseburger-mit-pommes-haekelanleitung

Rescuer of Stubborn Yarn in July

[ x ] In July I used old or unloved yarn, so I am a rescuer of stubborn yarn / yarn rescuer, or I gave this yarn a new purpose in life. :- )
Details:

I crocheted this hat from paper yarn; I had wanted to do that for a long time...
The yarn had also been lying around here for quite a while before I used it - crocheting with it is just so exhausting and also unpleasant on the hands that I kept putting it off.
On the hot days it has already served me well.

This shopping bag was made from yarn I was given years ago... now it has finally found its purpose; there was just enough for the bag.

Learned Something New in July

[ x ] I learned something new in July (e.g., a fascinating new technique / type of stitch, etc.), so I am a winner. :- )
Details:

I crocheted lanterns and then soaked them with fabric stiffener (a glue that dries weatherproof).
I think it’s a great way to show off pretty patterns that otherwise just wouldn’t be stable enough hanging there... I’m pleasantly surprised. My fabric stiffener is empty now, and next I want to test whether weatherproof wood glue might work too... so I’ll have to have another go at it... :)

Summer / Garden Season

[ x ] I made use of the sunny + hot days and had fun in the garden / park / on the balcony, etc.
Details:

We spent 1 week in Holland at the beach and had a wonderful time, took long walks on the beach, and enjoyed our time together.

Oh man... I really mixed things up there, sorry...
And yes, I had a terribly chaotic—but also amazing—July.
Thanks for your—as always, really great—awards ceremony!

Lazy or hardworking in the heat: the July titles
[ ] I didn’t let the heat throw me off, so I’m a King/Queen of Perseverance.

Because of gardening (and the heat), I had a bit less time for crafts in July, but I still kept crocheting, even on the train rides to our hikes and visits in the mountains.

UFO King/Queen in July

The reinforced hiking socks for my husband were finished in July.

Leftover Yarn Champion in July

I made a little boat and two shells from leftover yarn. For a little basket, I used yarn from my stash, and I did the same for some of the crocheted nets.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work out again: I urgently needed variegated yarn for two shopping nets.

See above.

Sock Queen / Sock King in July

I already mentioned the hiking socks. I really enjoyed knitting them with reinforcement, so I started a second pair for myself.

Hardworking Little Helper in July

In July I made:
- 4 crocheted nets (two can be seen in the gallery), one has already been given away.
- One pair of men’s reinforced hiking socks, finished
- 1 little basket made with double-stranded yarn and double crochet stitches for the bathroom
- 1 little boat
- 2 shells
- 4 granny squares for a table runner

Wallflower Rescuer in July

I bought the pattern for the shells last summer. Some older patterns for the nets also got another turn.

A crocheted bag was made from unloved, low-twist yarn.

Unraveling Monster Slayer in July

The unraveling monster was hard at work several times in July: for example, I unraveled three and a half granny squares and crocheted them again with a thinner hook.

Summer / Garden Season
Details:
Only in the mountains with our friends did we need a jacket or sweater late in the evening. For once, the crafting was allowed to rest; instead, we had a lively chat, watched the young dog, and enjoyed the spectacular sunset. Back home, an extra warm layer was truly unnecessary…

Sorry, I didn’t manage to get anything done last month except for a small bag as a cross-stitch test project (which my coworker practically bought from me on the spur of the moment) and a shopping bag (both made entirely from leftover yarn). But I’ll definitely get something done in August.

Thanks, Josefa—imaginative, beautiful, and motivating as always!
Thick clouds hang over the mountains, and it’s pouring heavily every now and then. Not exactly what we’re hoping for with the boys!
