Hardworking little helpers: feeling a bit unmotivated this week?

Dear users, dear authors,
dear little helpers,
the word is out—you’re “unmotivated” and lack drive when it comes to crafts.
Tsk, tsk.
At the awards ceremony in July, there will be a new title: “King/Queen of Overcoming Lack of Motivation,” plus a title for people who treat themselves to a break from crafts every now and then—“King/Queen of Craft Breaks.”

In contrast, we also have the title “King/Queen of Motivation” for people who don’t let anything deter them.

I love handing out titles. :- )

As I already wrote over in the other thread, I’m completely lacking in drive. This doesn’t just apply to crafts—it applies to everything. At work, I really have to pull myself together; everything has to be done very quickly and as error-free as possible. But at home, I could barely keep my eyes open while folding laundry. The same thing happens when I’m crocheting. I hope this passes in the next few days...

I’m not getting anything else done today either. Especially at work, everything’s supposed to move quickly, and somehow I’m managing that reasonably well… but I’m about to finish up, and I actually wanted to go to the gym, but honestly, I don’t know if I can bring myself to do it. On the one hand, I’ve firmly resolved to do something; on the other hand, I’m tired…

So-so, but I did get something done over the weekend—I adapted a crochet pattern from Crazypatterns into a sewing pattern, because I really, really liked Knolli, and since I can’t knit or crochet all the time, I just sewed the little guy instead. My youngest grandson got the nickname “Knolli” when he was just a toddler, and when I showed the pattern to my daughter, she burst out laughing and asked where they knew my *Knolli* from. The look is almost identical, especially when he’s been up to something. If it’s okay, I’ll post the PDF for sewing; for now, here are some pictures of the sewn Knolli.

This morning I finished crocheting another net, then unraveled the prototype and started over. Well, I’d tweaked the pattern a bit and only noticed once the bag was finished that the bottom (my idea) stuck out in a weird way. On the second try, I got it right, so the first bag was turned back into a ball of yarn—as if I had anything else to do! So, I wouldn’t exactly call this a lack of motivation right now, at least not when it comes to crafts (I also finished the reinforced hiking socks for my husband the day before yesterday), but it’s a whole different story when it comes to ironing!

I'm not exactly lacking motivation, but I have taken a little thinking break at the moment to develop more creative ideas. But I'm diligently embroidering away on my cross-stitch blanket. Since the weather wasn't that great over the weekend, I've already made quite a bit of progress:

I was actually only unmotivated, tired, and worn out yesterday. Today I got a lot done around the house, cooked ahead, etc. I also finished the stroller organizer

Sometimes you do something a bit silly. I forgot to leave an opening for turning it inside out. Luckily, the jeans fabric had a zipper, so I was able to turn the bag through that. :-)

We definitely need keyrings for the basement door and the kitchen door. Since Anton is now big enough to open the doors and both can be potential hazards, I want to be able to lock them.
To tell the keys apart, there are 2 different keyrings

You’ve shown some lovely things here—I like them all.

I’m not lacking motivation, but I’m barely getting any knitting done right now, simply because I don’t have the time. Yesterday I had to rip out a big section again… gritting my teeth, of course (grumble).

But oh well, sometimes work comes first.

Well… as far as bookkeeping goes… I’m not exactly thrilled about it, so I tend to put it off. Even though that doesn’t make things any better. Unfortunately.

The changeable weather is getting to me a bit right now.
Everything’s going a little slower than usual—even knitting.

I also had to rip back two rounds of my doubleface sock because I’d absentmindedly been working with the wrong color.
