Unusual Craft Techniques

Who among you enjoys craft techniques that are a little off the beaten track from the usual crochet / knitting, etc.?

Does anyone else have anything to add?

Even within the broader categories of crochet and knitting, there are “exotic” techniques—for example, free-form knitting and designing with very few rules. I particularly like StrickRauschen (a method developed by Gabriele Kluge).

yes, I’d be happy to.
The method works without patterns in the usual sense. You only need to know how to do purl and knit stitches, and working with double stitches is helpful. But many people already know that from the boomerang heel for socks.
You work with short rows, but without “instructions” written out row by row. So you are (almost) completely free—that’s what makes it simple, but at the same time also the hardest part, because before you start knitting you have to think about what you want to achieve.
