Dear users, dear authors,
is there anything you’re currently learning or practicing?
Whether it’s in the realm of crafts or in your everyday life or career?
Is it just too hot for that right now?

I’m going back to night school starting in September—I’ve decided to finish my high school diploma after taking a semester off. So I don’t fall behind and can keep up in class, I’m already catching up on the material or even getting a head start. The curriculum includes math, physics, Latin, English, and Russian. But since the thermometer is showing 35 degrees here right now, and my boss is back at the law firm, I’m not really in the mood to study—I’d rather knit or crochet, or go to the swimming pool. Somehow I feel like my brain just isn’t working the way I want it to in this heat.

After amigurumi, bags, and shawls, I’ve finally taken the plunge and started my first garment :-)

Of course, it’s not a new technique, but until now I just didn’t have the patience for such big projects, and I also find figuring out the sizing to be a challenge. Even though I’d been cursing myself for choosing wool of all things (instead of cool linen, for example), I’m actually quite happy now and glad I stuck with it ;-)

Thank goodness it doesn’t get hot quite as quickly in our old building, and on these sweltering days, you rediscover the little things—like foot baths with cold water, while you’re crocheting away on the patio :-)))

I bought a crochet pattern for a dress/skirt/tunic. I’m currently learning a very pretty lace pattern. That alone wouldn’t be much of a feat, but… I’m crocheting the skirt with a very stiff bouclé cotton. After the first 10 rows—I have to say—I’ve already gotten the hang of it.

I’m also learning a lot right now in the field of health. The book *Water and Salt* has given me some valuable insights that I’m now going to put into practice in my life.
