The nautical theme continues in June, too.

Brand-new in my shop stjerne61 are these Tunisian-crocheted anchor potholders; they are the ideal addition to Smutjes Pottlappen.

The Tunisian simple stitch is explained in a practice section in the pattern. Crocheted with cotton yarn and a size 3 hook, the potholders measure approx. 21 cm x 23 cm.

The pattern is beginner-friendly and written without abbreviations.

Are you still looking for a pretty crocheted piece for the summer—for your daughter, granddaughter, or godchild? Then why not try this crochet tunic? It’s quick to make; you can crochet it in a single color or in multiple colors, with short or long sleeves, in a loose or dense style—everything is explained in the pattern.

I was back at our playground for the first time in ages. And who did I discover? Paco, the puffin. I wonder if he was looking for a playmate?

Paco the Puffin will be 25 cm tall when sitting, using the specified materials.

To make him, you will need the following materials: 100 g cotton yarn in black, 50 g cotton yarn in white, 25 g cotton yarn in orange, leftover cotton yarn in red and beige, 12 mm safety eyes in red and black, stuffing, scissors, crochet hook size 3, and a needle for weaving in the ends and sewing on the individual pieces.

The pattern includes step-by-step photos that make it easier to follow. However, basic crochet skills (single crochet, spiral rounds, increases and decreases) are required.

Here is the pattern:

Just in time for the start of school, there’s a new crochet pattern for a small school cone in June. It’s big enough to hold small gifts, candy, or money for the little ones starting school.

For the school cone, I used a scrap (approx. 80 g) of Bobble yarn (200 m/50 g), crocheted with a size 3 hook, and the finished school cone measures 25 cm in total—the fillable cone is approx. 15 cm tall and has a diameter of 12 cm. You can also use other leftover yarn—see the pattern description for more details.

And now, have fun crocheting!

Longing for a vacation, the beach, and the ocean? Then pass the time by crocheting this great beach bag! It’s sure to put you in a vacation mood!
The bag measures about 40 cm high and 43 cm wide.
It’s crocheted using the tapestry technique with a special stitch where the stitches lie directly on top of one another—so there’s no offset. That’s why it’s particularly well-suited for pixel patterns. This stitch and the tapestry technique are explained in detail in the pattern. All you need is basic crochet experience.
For the bag, you’ll need 250 g of light-colored and 200 g of dark-colored cotton yarn (125 m / 50 g) and a 3.0 mm crochet hook.
You can find the pattern here!

To go with the bag, my shop offers a pattern for a glasses case in the same style, crocheted with the same yarn, so you can safely store your sunglasses as well.

The glasses case can be crocheted from leftover yarn; you’ll need about 25 g of the light-colored and 8 g of the dark-colored cotton yarn. You’ll also need an 8 x 4 cm clip-on bag closure (e.g., from Prym). Click here for the crochet pattern for the glasses case!

I think granny blankets are simply beautiful, and I admire everyone who takes on a project like that—you have my utmost respect!

But if I’m honest with myself, I have piles of granny squares that never made it into a finished blanket because I eventually just give up on sewing them together.

So I was looking for a pattern for a baby blanket that can be crocheted in one piece and came across a baby blanket of my grandma’s.

I’ve already made two blankets using this pattern (see above), and this is the classic pattern...

The crochet pattern is suitable for ambitious beginners, as I explain the cluster stitches and the shell border with lots of detailed photos and am also available to answer questions. However, you should already have some experience crocheting in rows using single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet.

And now, have fun crocheting!

Hand-crocheted lanterns create atmospheric decor both indoors and outdoors. Depending on the material and color used, they’re perfect as a little gift for a summer party, as elegant decorations for weddings, or brightly colored for children’s birthday parties.

You’ll need yarn of your choice (the pattern can easily be adapted to different sizes of both the jars used and the yarn you have on hand) and a crochet hook one size larger than recommended for the yarn.

The pattern includes many detailed photos, making it suitable even for ambitious beginners.

So you can get started right away! And now—have fun crocheting!

Small amounts of leftover yarn are always accumulating. What can you do with them?
No problem!

You only need a tiny bit of cotton yarn to make these cute pencil toppers. You can crochet a few of them here and there in your spare time. Then you’ll always have a little gift when visiting a household with kids. These little animals are also great for a school cone. And at a kids’ birthday party, they’re an original party favor.
Get started right away—it’s quick and lots of fun!
