Cute animals that you crochet yourself make wonderful gifts for a birth. They can accompany small children for a long time, and my figures are designed to be large enough that, for example, a music box mechanism for a music box or various rattle elements can be incorporated.

The zebra is still fairly new to the savanna team: as a black-and-white version, it makes a neutral gift if it’s not yet clear whether it will be a boy or a girl—but it can also be crocheted in all kinds of color combinations.

The color changes require a bit of crochet experience, but I explain them in the pattern and am always available for questions.

   Here’s the pattern

Also naturally neutral, but possible in bright colors too, is Giraffe Glückskind. This pattern is suitable for beginners.

Here’s the pattern

Last but not least there is Rudolph—who, with his red nose, is Christmassy, but can also simply be crocheted as a moose.

For more information and the materials used, feel free to stop by the patterns and my Shop . Have fun crocheting!

Lara Langhals, with her signature giraffe spots, looks very curious: which child will soon take her into its arms? At 50 cm tall, she’s also ideal for cuddling.

The pattern includes many step-by-step photos that make recreating it easier. However, basic crochet skills (single crochet, increases and decreases, spiral rounds, color changes) are required.

You will need the following materials: 200 g of light brown cotton yarn, 100 g of fawn-colored cotton yarn, 50 g of black cotton yarn, leftover turquoise cotton yarn, a pair of 15 mm brown-black safety eyes, stuffing, a size 3 crochet hook, scissors, and a needle for sewing in ends.

Here is the pattern: https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/50103/haekelanleitung-giraffe-lara-langhals

When Kiki, the squirrel with his big eyes, looks at you, you just can’t stay mad at him—even if he’s stealing your peanuts!
Kiki is about 13 cm tall. He’s crocheted from cotton yarn (e.g., Catania, LL = 125 m / 50 g). The tail is crocheted using Peppina, a long-fiber fringed yarn from Lana Grossa (LL = 85 m / 50 g). This makes it nice and bushy.
So, would you like Kiki to move in with you, too?

Cute little animals are great to make in the summer too, whether in the garden, on the balcony, or at home in drizzly weather.

For beginners, the little seal Robby is especially easy, since it can be crocheted almost in one piece—only the two front flippers need to be sewn on.

Here is the pattern

The little koala Fridolin is also available as a large version or in a value pack with his parents in my shop. But even on his own, he brings a real summer feeling.

Here is the pattern

Or how about Marta the cow in her pasture? Great for playing, cuddling, or loving.

Here is the pattern

All three little animals are easy to crochet thanks to the illustrated pattern and are also doable for beginners with basic crochet skills.

Bully, the little elephant from the beach, is sooo excited for summer! He’s already dug out his little boat, his swim ring, and his sailor’s cap, and is just waiting for warm weather so he can finally play by the water.
Bully’s size varies depending on the yarn used. With fluffy wool (length approx. 86 m / 50 g), he’ll be about 22 cm tall. The cap, little boat, and swim ring were crocheted using cotton yarn (Catania, length approx. 125 m / 50 g).
The crochet pattern for Bully is available for download here!

Anny and Bruno are two little hedgehogs you can take with you anywhere—they’re finger puppets and only about 11 cm tall. Bruno is a passionate gardener who gives his beloved Anny a beautiful flower every day. Today it’s a magnificent sunflower. You can crochet it in no time using just a little leftover yarn, and then you’re ready to go: With these two cute little finger puppets, you can act out enchanting stories and make many otherwise boring waiting times (e.g., at the doctor’s office) fly by.

The crochet pattern includes instructions not only for the finger puppets, but also for the flower and the watering can.

Dino Pauli is the perfect companion for all little explorers

Crocheted in two pieces, he’s joined together at the end using a contrasting color. So no tedious sewing of lots of individual pieces.

Depending on the thickness of the yarn and the crochet hook, Pauli can reach a height of 31 cm and a length of about 40 cm.

Basic knowledge of chain stitches, single crochet, and slip stitches is required.

This little cuddly bunny is quick to crochet.

The front and back are each crocheted in one piece, and at the end, the two pieces are joined together with a round of single crochet stitches. The only thing left to do is sew on the little tail at the very end.

You’ll need a basic understanding of single crochet, chain stitches, and slip stitches—then even beginners can tackle this project. The pattern guides you row by row to the finished bunny.

These two little animals are especially loved by children. That’s because they keep watch at the bedroom door to see whether someone is allowed in or not. Of course, parents can use them for themselves too, for example on the office door.

Both door guards—both the owl and the little bear—can be crocheted very easily from leftover yarn. So they are very suitable for beginners with basic skills.

Here is the crochet pattern for the door guard savings set—owl and little bear

Note: Both are also available individually as a pattern.
