Weekend Plans: Happy Weekend :-)

What are your plans?

We’re celebrating our youngest granddaughter’s First Communion this weekend. I’ve been trying to get my cold under control since yesterday, using Sinupret, hot teas, and Mukosulvan. I can’t take other cold medicines because of my severe asthma. I hope I can manage to keep my coughing from disturbing the service; otherwise, I’ll just have to leave the church. *It’ll turn out all right for Mrs. Kern; after all, things worked out for Mrs. Zorn too.* :-) ;-)

Today is my mother-in-law’s birthday, so we’re heading over for the traditional ham carving in a cozy setting.
Tomorrow she’s hosting a brunch, and after that I’ll be cleaning the house.
On Sunday, I’ll visit my husband at rehab—I’m driving to Clausthal-Zellerfeld—hopefully the highways won’t be too crowded.

After the initial spell of summer weather here, it’s gotten cooler again and it’s raining. That prompted me to give my apartment a thorough cleaning. Since I don’t have anything else planned for the weekend (besides the deep clean), I’ll also make some progress on my crafts—if I don’t fall into a deep sleep this afternoon (I’ve been awake since 4 a.m.).

We’re heading to the Shepherd Days in Beuren today. It’s an annual highlight for a large part of the family. After it finally rained yesterday, the sun is shining this morning.

Sheep shearing, sheep bathing, sheep herding, and a picnic are on the agenda. Maybe there will be wool vendors there too, as well as the women with their spinning wheels.

Shepherds’ Days... That’s surely interesting, Petra.

We only have one fixed plan this weekend: we’ve been invited to my sister’s for coffee, cake, and a chat... I’m really looking forward to it. Yesterday and today we sorted things out around here, put up the balcony planters, repotted flowers, and cleared out a few drawers — all the things that tend to get put off.
As a reward, we had a pizza from our favorite Italian place.

It rained almost all day today, which makes nature happy, and we had no excuse not to tidy up...
