Dear beginners of all kinds of crafts, this is your thread.
Here in this thread, authors and contributors can share any patterns that are well-suited for beginners or that help you learn crocheting, knitting, sewing, knooking, embroidery, or even new craft techniques.
There’s so much more to discover than just pot holders made from cotton school yarn. ;-)
If you have any questions, just post them here, and we’ll be happy to help.

@Authors/Providers
: Please post patterns here that are well-suited for beginners or for learning.
Limit yourself to two patterns per person in this thread; each should include a picture, a link, and at least four lines of text. Please keep in mind that beginners need as much information as possible. Try to remember what information you needed or what questions you had when you first started, and then put that all together here in the thread.
Information on uploading images to the forum can be found here.

Have fun and good luck to all of you.

These little baskets are quick to crochet and very well suited for beginners. There are no limits to your color and design choices. All you need to know are chain stitches, slip stitches, and half double crochets. For the crochet flowers: single crochets and treble crochets.
Everything else is explained in detail in the pattern with plenty of pictures. If you have any questions about the pattern, my email address is included in each pattern, and you’re welcome to contact me anytime.

With this pattern, you’ll get a beautiful result right away, even as a beginner. It might also make a lovely gift for little girls:

You don’t need to be a crochet expert to make these colorful coasters. Basic skills are more than enough:

Decorate your jam jars. Homemade jam with a matching jar cover also makes a lovely gift. And you can use them to add a touch of charm to your own breakfast table.
The following crochet skills are required: chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochets, half double crochets, double crochets, and triple crochets.
The pattern uses plenty of pictures to show you how to achieve the final result. If you have any questions about the pattern, I’m always happy to help.

Here I have a lovely Christmas crochet pattern for you
of a beautiful star.

What you should know how to do: chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochets, crocheting in rounds.

I wrote the pattern this way and also designed it with lots of pictures, so that even a beginner can manage it very well.

If any questions still remain, I’m always very happy to help.

But there are also pretty pot holders in the Crazypatterns shop

They’re almost too nice to use for handling hot pots and pans.

Whether as a bag charm, keychain, or small gift, the Wuschelinis want to go everywhere with you—whether as a jungle animal, fresh from the farm, or from Christmas land.

The illustrated pattern is also suitable for beginners.

In addition to basic crochet skills, working with a knitting dolly is also part of the pattern. A description of the procedure is included in the pattern. An alternative without using a knitting dolly is also provided.

The Wuschelinis are also excellent for using up leftover yarn!

Required materials:
Crochet hook size 3.00
Knitting dolly
Cotton yarn (100% cotton)
Stuffing

For the eyes:
Googly eyes to sew on or glue on.

So grab your hook quickly and dig out the knitting dolly again.

You can find the patterns at: https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/store/ErnstWuschel

Even beginners can knit beautiful cozy shawls. Casting on stitches, knitting knit and purl stitches, and binding off stitches—that’s all that’s needed for this shawl. The pattern includes pictures, and I’m happy to answer any questions. I hope you have lots of fun knitting the “Clouds” shawl.

Best wishes
Christa

This Advent calendar is absolutely perfect for beginners. The little socks are knitted using just two needles and knit stitches. Filled with little treats for mother and baby, this calendar makes a great gift for an expectant mother.

I can hardly decide—all my patterns are beginner-friendly.

But for a quick sense of accomplishment, this snail would be just the thing.

Angelo and Angelina are very easy to crochet. The pattern is well illustrated; all you need to know is how to do single crochet, chain stitches, double crochet, treble crochet, and single crochet stitches together.
You’ll need:
a 2.5 mm crochet hook, cotton yarn (e.g. Catania) in 2 colors, eyelash yarn, self-adhesive eyes, stuffing, a darning needle, and possibly angel hair (optional).
These cheeky little fellows with their bare bottoms will be about 8–10 cm tall.

This poinsettia will bloom forever, and you can use it again next year. You can also use it to decorate gifts and packages in an original way.
All you need is cotton yarn in red and green, a small leftover amount of yellow, a size 2.5 crochet hook, and a darning needle.
The illustrated pattern is very easy and simple to follow.

Absolutely suitable for beginners is this great hat!
With a size 10 crochet hook, it crochets up quickly, and even though only single crochet and half double crochet stitches are used, the pattern looks fantastic!
With detailed instructions, lots of pictures and tutorials, plus tips for pompoms and using reflective yarn!

The Christmas trees are easy to crochet… and pretty quick, too. You can decorate them however you like—with beads and/or ribbons—so you can quickly create a Christmas tree.

It also involves a little sawing and drilling… but that shouldn’t put you off. For me, things like that always turn out crooked, but the overall result is still nice.

These cats are also quick to crochet. If you use variegated yarn, you can skip working out the colors...

I'd like to draw your attention to 2 of my patterns:
for knitters, I've designed a "Läppchen pullover"
and for those interested in Tunisian crochet, a striking jacket, model "Bea".
Both patterns are very well suited for beginners... even if they don't necessarily look like it!
Take a look!
Have fun,
best regards,
Angela

This poncho attracts admiring glances with its sophisticated look. And yet it is child’s play to knit – using nothing but knit stitches. Over 13 pages, I describe and show you step by step how it works. You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to knit and how great it looks when worn.

This clever scarf collar is super easy to knit. It is knitted using only knit stitches, has 3 buttonholes and 1 button. You can button it in different ways, giving it a different look every time. Feel free to take a look at my photos. And the best part is: the pattern is free :-)

A potholder can also become a challenge.

But not a headband made from my pattern. Child’s play, super pretty, and wonderfully warm and cozy.

Interested in crocheting with beads?
No problem—we have a wonderfully detailed beginner’s course with plenty of detailed photos for crocheted beads. It’s the ultimate challenge among crochet techniques.

But for the beading enthusiasts among you, we also offer a great beginner’s course on peyote balls, for example. This one has already been sold over 20 times!

But knitting fans won’t be left out either.
We have a richly illustrated beginner’s course for toe-up socks—that is, socks knitted from the toe up to the cuff.

We look forward to having you join us, and of course, we’ll be happy to offer advice and support even after you’ve purchased the pattern if you have any questions!

Perfect for beginners—that’s my new design: the “Sam” loop scarf.

The loop scarf is knitted in rounds using almost exclusively knit stitches. It can be made with many different types of yarn. The pattern includes many examples and very detailed instructions.
Both beginners and experienced knitters will be able to create a great eye-catcher and trusty companion with this pattern. It also makes a great Christmas gift. :-)

For those who want to crochet something that’s not only simple but also practical and beautiful, my poncho is perfect. And the great thing about it is that it can also be worn as a skirt.
It’s very easy to crochet—just the same rows back and forth. More details in the pattern.
