I found CP when I was searching online for a way to sell my patterns and designs. I’d never heard of CP before, and when I recently asked a few avid crafters about CP, it was completely unknown
to them. I just Googled “knitting patterns” again, and CP doesn’t show up very high in the results, but it’s a different story for crochet. Crochet is, after all, more in vogue right now.
I first learned about CP through a sewing forum—I’m still active on that forum today. There, people work on and showcase everything you can do with needles; the focus is on sewing, but they also cover knitting, crocheting, and embroidery—both by hand and with a machine. I’ll post the link here; if it’s not appropriate, feel free to delete it.
Is it really true that crocheting is more popular right now? When I scroll through Facebook, I always get the feeling that many people prefer knitting... or are switching from crocheting to knitting these days... I can do both, but I’m definitely more into crocheting.
As for the question, I first heard about CP on Facebook back then... everyone was talking about Crazypatterns, and just like that... I ended up here too.
About 2.5 years ago, I was looking for a pattern for a specific baby project and just typed it into the search engine. The first result was a pattern on CP, and that’s how I ended up here.
Until then, I hadn’t even thought about writing and offering my own patterns. I’d always just jotted down my notes for myself.
What I’ve discovered since March 2017 is my love for designing. I really enjoy bringing my own ideas to life and sharing them. That’s why I’m grateful to have found CP and to be able to exchange ideas here.
I saw a beautiful crochet design on Pinterest, and the link led to CP. That’s where I got hooked. :)
I’m equally interested in knitting and crocheting, and there’s plenty of variety here.
The promotional emails are also very handy, even though I don’t usually like ads.
I stumbled upon CP by chance when I was searching for crochet patterns using a search engine—and there it was, right among the results. Curious as I am, I checked out the site and was immediately hooked. I also got into knitting through crocheting, though that might also be because at my knitting group—which meets every 14 days at our yarn shop—we tend to knit more than we crochet.
