Who doesn’t like beautiful table linen?

A table runner like this simply turns an ordinary table into an extraordinary one, no matter whether it is an important holiday or just a usual weekday!

This table runner is easy to crochet, even if you have never yet crocheted filet mesh, because these instructions show you exactly how it’s done. All you need to know is how to crochet chains and double crochets. The first rows are explained step by step for you, the rest of the cloth is crocheted according to the chart that is easy to understand and explained in detail.

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
tc = triple crochet
qc = quadruple crochet
sl st = slip stitch
st = stitch
d = double
tog = together
inc = increase
tch = turning chain

The first dc of each round is replaced by 3 tchs, the 1st hdc by 2 tchs and, in addition (!) to the 1st sc, you crochet 1 tch.

Material needed:

• Any yarn you like
• Crochet hooks in the right size
• Darning needle
• Scissors
• Polystyrene ring (without a flat edge!) in whatever size you like. The ring used in this example has an outside diameter of about 8" (21cm).

Recommended yarn:

• For these instructions, one can use any yarn, with any thickness and color – just as you like!
• In this example, I used polyester yarn that has a yardage of approx. 217 yds./2oz. (199m/50g).
• I have crocheted around the ring with double yarn and the decorative parts with a single thread.
  I used an E4 (3.5mm) hook for the ring and a 1–2 (2.5mm) size needle.
